I don't mean to be rude, but it seems obvious that the deceased dictator of Venezuela would have quite a bit to do with PehDehVaySah (yes, I've worked with them on technology in the past).

I know you didn't mean to be rude but it sure came across that way. I'm the son of two Scots, mate. English by birth, not by DNA. But unlike you yanks, we Scots get enough feverish excitement out of our normal lives that I feel no need to fight on the internet. So sorry if it seemed rude; his comment seemed arrogant, but in a way that makes one say, "ya, no shit." Carry on, lad.Originally posted by YOhio View PostI know you didn't mean to be rude but it sure came across that way. Whatever happened to English manners?

Yes, but he was more intimately involved than most people realize. Rick Perry: North Korea wants to blow up Texas to stop my awesome awesomeness
Texas Gov. Rick Perry (R) believes that his success as governor has made Texas a target for attack by North Korea leader Kim Jong-un.
Following the news that a North Korean government photo had revealed plans to strike cities in the United States, many were confused about why Austin made the list along with obvious targets like Washington, D.C. and San Francisco.
But on Wednesday, Perry explained to CBS News that North Korea’s military strategy made perfect sense considering the success that Texas had seen during the 12 years he had served as governor
“What I will suggest to you is that one of the reasons that Austin is put on the map is that he put very important American cities on the map,” the Texas governor observed. “Economically, what has happened in Texas over the course of the last decade has made this city an epicenter for a lot of technology and a lot of economic development.”
“And I think the individuals in North Korea understand that Austin, Texas is now a very important city in America, as do corporate CEOs and other people who are moving here in record number.”

Texas is greener than Cali...
Even if you calculate the MW per square mile:
- Texas - 0.0455 MW/SqMile
- California - 0.0339 MW/SqMile

This is one of those very meaningless infographics. What percentage of each state's energy needs does their wind power capacity satisfy?

Is wind power a green thing? Seems like the wind turbines blight the landscape and don't they kill thousands of birds?

They actually improve the landscape in west texas, IMHO. And who cares about the stupid birds? Let evolution produce only smart birds.Originally posted by CardiacCoug View PostIs wind power a green thing? Seems like the wind turbines blight the landscape and don't they kill thousands of birds?
This reminds me of Ted Kennedy who seemed to be all for wind power except when it was in his backyard."If there is one thing I am, it's always right." -Ted Nugent.

Of course the question is how viable wind power would be if they weren't getting federal subsidies up the wazoo?

Don't you mean having to deal with government mandates rather than subsides?Originally posted by Indy Coug View PostOf course the question is how viable wind power would be if they weren't getting federal subsidies up the wazoo?
Note that it seems that Texas has already more than doubled its 2015 renewable energy target and exceeded its 2025 goal with wind power alone."If there is one thing I am, it's always right." -Ted Nugent.
