This really is one of the strangest occurrences in recent memory. Just a fascinating look into a country in utter turmoil. Popovich said it best: "We are Rome."

As you can imagine, the tweets are across the entire spectrum on this.Originally posted by Omaha 680 View PostChappelle's monologue is redeeming this a bit. Yeah, same here. These idiots are making me feel a lot better.Originally posted by YOhio View PostI really can't thank these protestors enough for making me feel better about Trump's win. The entertainment alone has been great, but the hysteria has really put it all in perspective for me. Did I miss something? In the opening I saw Nancy McKinnon singing Hallelujah out of respect for Leonard Cohen.Originally posted by Omaha 680 View PostChappelle's monologue is redeeming this a bit. When was the last time SNL did an opening without a single joke? Did they even do that after 9/11 (I can't remember)? Cohen dying hardly warranted that...and it clearly wasn't about Cohen anyway. It was a purely political statement without any humor. Dumb.Originally posted by Non Sequitur View PostDid I miss something? Thankfully Chapelle was the host and was great. He gets it that you can rip your political opponents (and their opponents) and still be funny. That's what we expect and need SNL to do.

Respect for Leonard Cohen? Their "tribute" trivialized Cohen's death by equating it with the results of a legal democratic election.Originally posted by Non Sequitur View PostDid I miss something? In the opening I saw Nancy McKinnon singing Hallelujah out of respect for Leonard Cohen.
Hollywood and the progressive media have no idea what just happened and why. Their arrogance, self importance, lecturing, and blindness is a major cause of Trump's election. Doubling down on the lecturing and more self righteousness is supposed to accomplish what?

No they still made jokes on the 9/11 show open, Lorne said to Rudy "Is it ok to be funny?" and Rudy replied "Why start now?". That was just mourning the death of America.Originally posted by Omaha 680 View PostChappelle's monologue is redeeming this a bit. But that was one of the lamest openings ever for SNL. I happen to think it's hilarious. Kate McKinnon isn't giving up! Not sure what that means, how she'd do it, or why she'd it. But inspiring!Originally posted by HuskyFreeNorthwest View PostNo they still made jokes on the 9/11 show open, Lorne said to Rudy "Is it ok to be funny?" and Rudy replied "Why start now?". Well she was in a huge flop of a movie and really needed to have the Hillary SNL job locked up for the next few years.Originally posted by YOhio View PostI happen to think it's hilarious.
