It has been said numerous times, but stories like these from the far left have made the unthinkable election of Donald Trump much more bearable for me. Thank you, Lena.

The three hours I spent at the Javits Center Tuesday night, surrounded by campaign staffers and fellow surrogates for Hillary Clinton, are blurred and spotty. At a certain point it became clear something had gone horribly wrong. Celebrants' faces turned. The modeling had been incorrect. Watching the numbers in Florida, I touched my face and realized I was crying. "Can we please go home?" I said to my boyfriend. I could tell he was having trouble breathing, and I could feel my chin breaking into hives. Another woman showed me her matching hive, hidden by fresh concealer.

I hugged the women I had spent eighteen months with, laughing and plotting and spreading our love for Hillary Clinton and her message. My party dress felt tight and itchy.

By the time we'd made it over the bridge, a friend called. "It's over," she said. "I love you." I was frozen. We stopped at the diner. No one was speaking as they ate, no one in the whole place.

At home I got in the shower and began to cry even harder. My boyfriend, who had already wept, watched me as I mumbled incoherently, clutching myself. "It wasn't supposed to go this way. It was supposed to be her job. She worked her whole life for the job. It's her job."

Yeah, I got that. Wasn't it Boehner who said it was his mission to make Obama fail? This bunch was more partisan than other congresses in recent memory. Jason Chaffetz decade long investigation over Benghazi is evidence of that. You really don't see those guys as being more obstructionist than usual? They had immense pressure to be that way. The Tea Party had them by the short hairs.

EDIT: I'd also add that refusing to even speak with Obama's supreme court nominee was disgusting and evidence of congress' recalcitrance. You can say he was disingenuous for nominating a moderate but he still nominated a moderate. Not to mention the threat to keep that seat vacant indefinitively if Hillary won.

Not quite. You're probably thinking of McConnell saying the goal was to make Obama a one-term president. This article clarifies that he didn't say that until just before the mid-term elections in 2010 - right around the time that they were shoving ObamaCare through:

I don't remember Reid or Pelosi having been as bad as our current crop. The Tea Party has been steroids for partisan posturing a lot of it.
Hillary not being forthcoming doesn't explain these hearings taking longer than Watergate, JFK Assassination or Iran-Contra investigations. Chaffetz should drop his pursuit of the white whale for the good of the country at this point, but he's too small a man to do that.

Pelosi - We have to pass the bill to find out what's in it.

Reid - Repeatedly lied about Romney's taxes from the Senate floor - refused to repeat claims off the Senate floor (apparently, statements on the floor are not subject to slander law).

Hillary - set up the email server as a way to circumvent the Freedom of Information Act (any other explanation makes reason stare). Congress not made aware of the separate server (in spite of many, many FOIA requests) until YEARS after Hillary had left State Department. Her not being forthcoming is in a different league from most.
