I wish these people would actually make good on their promises, of course they never do.

Al Sharpton??? Oh my gosh that would be so great. He was out race baiting first thing this morning. Something about white america blah, blah, blah. Didn't white america also elect President Obama?

Maybe he meant evil, racist, immigrant hating white america, not everyoone.

Some plaudits are in order:

1. For Jeff Lewbowski: he warned us that it was close and he was right. MBN and Moliere should be banned for their terrible conduct.

Something I learned through this was what a bad candidate Romney was. Basically the country is looking for the opposite of a traditional big business Republican. I think Romney would have lost to Hillary. People are afraid of a global economy and want to be told we can go back to 1950 when we didn't have to worry about jobs being moved overseas. It's not possible. Or at least, I'm pretty sure it would be disastrous, even if it were possible. But that's what people want to hear. Usually it's the Dem's that are closest to that message, but somehow Trump glommed onto it as a Republican.

To a lesser extent, the left have their issues with uninformed voters too. Like those who have no concept of what providing free everything for everyone will do to our economy.

A few random thoughts:

* After seeing how decisive Trump's victory was, and the reason that most stated they voted for him "to change the culture of Washington", I'm not as confident that Romney would have beaten Hilary as I was before the election. Obviously a hypothetical, but I don't know that Mitt would have inspired the working class to vote, the way Trump did

* I spent time watching most every channel last night. Anderson Cooper is by far the best lead commentator. He is smart, articulate, and even-handed. Chris Mathews and Rachel Maddow looked like they couldn't get to a bar fast enough. Fox News is almost unwatchable, the only guy I liked was the data geek guy who kept refusing to call states, even as Megyn Kelly pleaded with him to.

* Baron Trump is going to be fantastic to watch the next 4 years. I might get a snapchat account just to see how much teenager hatred he spews towards his father, in the future.

* Corey Lewandowski is insufferable. He is smug, condescending and snarky. Basically, he is the conservative embodiment of what Gawker was.

* I don't agree with Van Jones on many things, but I thought he owned the night for talking heads.

Romney would have taken this going away. The evangelicals and others realized their mistakes and would have lined up behind him. He'd have pulled plenty of Dems too.

Agree on all counts. The 'Clinton News Network' was by far the best run.

I can't even remember why Van Jones got a bad rap during the first Obama campaign, or whenever it was people started hating on him. But he was easily the most articulate and heartfelt commentator on that panel. I felt for him during that snippet about children.

I like him too. He came off as sincere.

There are some opportunities and many pitfalls ahead.

The upsides? We will likely see the composition of the Supreme Court remain similar to what it was before Scalia's death.
Taxes are less likely to rise.

I suppose we will see more infrastructure building. Whether he makes sense or not, he does tend to building structures.

We might actually discuss an immigration policy.

We might see a cogent fiscal policy.

We are less likely to get into a war with Russia.

An end to the War on Drugs.

An end to the failed experiment which was Obamacare. I imagine the expansion of Medicaid remains.

Plenty of potential downsides.

Trade wars? Hope not.
Racial or ethnic divisions widen further? Hope not.
Further economic difficulties? Hard to prognosticate that just yet.
Continued vacillation over public health issues.

An unnecessary military conflict somewhere else.

What did he tell his children about HRC's favorable treatment to nations giving millions in unreported donations to the Clinton FOundation? It was a bit overwrought, IMO.

It is interesting to see the twittersphere laying a lot of blame on 3rd party candidates. The assumption is all the votes that went towards Johnson would have gone to Hilary, and given her the close states. What evidence is there that Johnson supporters are more pro-HRC than DJT? Anecdotally, my wife and I both voted 3rd party (we live in WA, it makes zero difference. Our state was called blue literally 4 minutes after polls closed). If I had to vote between the 2 evils, I likely would have gone with the one with ovaries.

Race baiting was, IMO, the deciding factor in the election.

The man who repeatedly questioned the legitimacy of our first AA president is now replacing him.

Trump hasn't had a consistent message except that white america has disappeared and he's going to be the guy to restore America back to its 1950s glory.

I was referring more to his interaction with Lewandowski when it became evident that the tide had turned irreversibly against HRC.
