LOL. The guy who wants to repeal NAFTA and protect local economies should be trusted on taxes and lower regulation.Originally posted by Topper View PostLower taxes, better judicial appointments, lesser regulation of businesses. I didn't say he had a lot of good policy positions. Hillary has none. Three is better than zero.
Johnson has a few more, but his policy flawed but apparently not personally as flawed as those two crazies.
Come on, Topper. Stop cutting Trump slack because of the R next to his name. We all understand Hillary hatred. If you're going to vote for Trump or Johnson because of that, go ahead and say it. Pence is articulate and presidential. It's funny that while he was trying to rehabilitate his ticket's image and add some much needed gravitas, Trump was live tweeting such juvenile comments as "Kaine looks like an evil crook out of the Batman movies." Thanks, boss. At this point Pence should be (and he may well be) focusing on 2020.

I trust the GOP more on lower taxes than the Dems, who have never met a tax they didn't love or wish to increase. I trust Johnson even more, as I agree Trump is not trustworthy, but I can trust Hillary to go crazy wild on taxes. Again, I am not a Trump supporter, but I oppose the Democratic tendency to raise taxes whenever possible.
Identify for me the last Democrat who ever meant, "I believe taxes are too high and we should lower them." For some reason, no level of taxation is too high, if you are a Democrat.Last edited by Topper; 10-04-2016, 10:56 PM."Guitar groups are on their way out, Mr Epstein."

Trump has a point. Kaine had bad eyebrows and came off pretty unlikeable.Originally posted by PaloAltoCougar View PostPence is articulate and presidential. That statement sounds like a ringing endorsement for Trump over Clinton. Careful what you say!
I'm still not voting for either of these jokers.

I can't stand Mike Pence: Mr. “I'm a Christian, a Conservative and a Republican. In That Order”.
If he were a Christian first, why is he ignoring the most prominent parable that Jesus taught and the second great commandment. The Good Samaritan is a story about caring for our supposed enemies who are in trouble. Yet the Governor wants to ban refugees from coming to his state.

I guess there was a chance the guy travelling from Jerusalem to Jericho was going to pull a knife on anyone willing to help him, so why not pass by on the other side.

I wonder how he is going to pay for those protectionist policies. My uneducated guess would be taxation, but what do I know?Originally posted by Topper View PostI did not address his protectionist policies.I trust the GOP more on lower taxes than the Dems, who have never met a tax they didn't love or wish to increase. And my argument isn't about the democrats. You are most likely correct about any future democratic president; they will tend to support increasing taxes. So what? My beef is with people who support the ostensible republican who has publicly supported traditional democratic policies more than republican ones. I keep repeating myself and you keep responding the same way, but I'll say it again, there is no good evidence that Trump will govern the way most of his supporters think he will. And that includes those who will hold their nose and vote for him, expecting something better than Clinton.
You're right. But it isn't a ringing endorsement. It's a rebuke to those who expect Trump to govern as a republican. I think it's a safe bet that Clinton will also govern as a centrist democrat, despite her left tilt in the election. But I also expect her to not embarrass herself and the country at regular intervals. So she has my support until republicans quit supporting national embarrassments.Originally posted by Eddie View PostWait a minute...I thought you didn't like Trump?!?

Shouldn't Reagan be on that list, too? We shouldn't let death prevent him from voicing opposition to Trump. Probably all the other presidents, too.Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View Post

http://www.politico.com/magazine/sto...-reagan-213288The gadfly was Donald Trump, writing in his book The Art of the Deal. But it wasn’t just a glancing blow; to promote the book, Trump launched a political campaign that tore into Reagan’s record, including his willingness to stand up to the Soviet Union. Advised by the notorious Roger Stone, a Nixon-era GOP trickster, in 1987 Trump took out full-page ads in the New York Times, the Boston Globe and the Washington Post blasting Reagan and his team.
The ads, which cost more than $90,000, came after Trump had visited the Soviet Union and met with Mikhail Gorbachev.
