Outside of Internet ads, I haven't seen anything from Trump. Then again, we live in a state that he would be stupid to throw money at.

          • Cilleeeeeezza chimes in.

Hillary Clinton’s health just became a real issue in the presidential campaign

Whereas Clinton and her campaign could laugh off questions about her health before today, the "overheating" episode makes it almost impossible for them to do so. Not only has it come at a time when there was growing chatter — with very little evidence — that her health was a problem, but it also happened at a 9/11 memorial event — an incredibly high-profile moment with lots and lots of cameras and reporters around.

Her campaign may well try to dismiss this story as nothing more than an isolated incident, meaning nothing. (Democrats were already pushing the story of George W. Bush fainting in 2002 after choking on a pretzel, via Twitter.)

But the issue is that Clinton kept reporters totally in the dark for 90 minutes after her abrupt departure from the 9/11 memorial service for a health-related matter. No reporter was allowed to follow her. (Clinton has resisted a protective pool for coverage because Donald Trump refuses to participate in one.) This is, yet again, the Clinton campaign asking everyone to just trust it. She got overheated! But she's fine now!
I wrote this on Tuesday morning:

The simple fact is that there is zero evidence that anything is seriously wrong with Clinton. If suffering an occasional coughing fit is evidence of a major health problem, then 75 percent of the country must have that mystery illness. And I am one of them.
Well, that is no longer operative. Context matters. A coughing episode is almost always just a coughing episode. But when coupled with Clinton's "overheating" on Sunday morning — with temperatures something short of sweltering — Clinton and her team simply need to say something about what happened (and why the press was in the dark for so long.)

And as the New York Times's Adam Nagourney tweeted on Sunday morning, now might be a good time for Clinton to release a fuller record of her medical history.
            Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Would it for sure go to Kaine? If that isn't a rule, my guess would be Biden.

I think it's up to the party to decide what to do. However, I think it would be hard for them not to pass it to Kaine given that the party already nominated him for the VP seat and he's been campaigning along with Clinton since the convention. I mean, who would have the authority to pick someone else since the primaries and convention have already happened? Who would get to ratify such a decision?

Hopefully someone knows the answer. If the power folks in the dem party get to choose, I hope they pick Lizzy Warren. I think she is a healthier Hillary Clinton.

That's fine, but for every democrat who would want Warren or Biden or someone else, there would be another who will disagree. The problem is the process has already played out and Caine was approved at the convention by the delegates who were selected through the primary process. The purpose of the VP once elected is to take over for the president when it becomes necessary. I would believe the political parties who have already nominated a VP pick would likely follow the tradition and practice of the constitution for elected VPs and apply the same logic to a nominee, but I guess it's probably not set in stone. I would just think for practical purposes it would the "safest" way for a party to handle it.

It would be interesting to find out, but I sincerely hope she is well enough to carry on.

I don't hate Hillary. I totally dislike her lieing, her cackle and most of all her policies. I would never wish ill health for her though.

Trump is going to push the health thing pretty hard, but it's actually to his disadvantage if she drops out. The only reason the election might be close is because Hillary has almost as high of negatives with the voters as Trump does. Kaine isn't very well known, but at the same time hardly anyone seems to dislike him either.

Agreed. Trump is toast unless running against Bernie, Lizzy or Hillary. Probably close to toast even against Bernie or Lizzy.

It is amazing how likeable and capable the two VP candidates are vs each parties Presidential candidate.

I am surprised Trump hasn't stuck his foot in his mouth concerning Hillary's present health problem.
