I do find it ironic that this immigrant family is going after Trump. I understand they are Muslim immigrants, but Hillary is part of the reason their son died in the Iraq war. Hillary voted for that war and Trump has been very public, even back then, about not supporting the Iraq war.

I still continue to find the Democrats support of Muslims confounding. I understand they want to protect a minority group from discrimination, which is admirable, but Muslim treatment of women and gays pales in comparison to how Mormons treat those groups....and yet Democrats drag Mormons through the mud for what we do/believe. It's odd and two-faced.
Hillary was not a catalyst for the Iraq. She, like just about every other member of congress went along with it, but she really had little to do with it.

And Trump wasn't against the Iraq war until well after "Mission Accomplished."

After all of the insane things he's said to fire up his base over the past year, could his insult of an immigrant be the thing that finally trips him up? I think that would be some good irony.
Ezra Klein analyzes Trump's reaction to this:

At this point, I honestly don’t know what to say. I don’t have new language for this, I haven’t found another way of saying this isn’t okay, this isn’t kind, this isn’t decent. Instead, I’ll note James Fallows’s response. He quotes Joseph Welch, speaking to Senator Joseph McCarthy in 1954.

"Until this moment," he said, "I think I never really gauged your cruelty."
This isn't partisan. This isn't left vs. right. Mitt Romney never would have said this. John McCain never would have said this. George W. Bush never would have said this. John Kerry never would have said this. This is what I mean when I write that the 2016 election isn't simply Democrat vs. Republican, but normal vs. abnormal.
Another disgusting act by Trump. For the life of me, I can't understand how anyone would consider Trump roughly equal to Clinton, let alone consider voting for him. He is a horrible human being.

I'm not buying this. There's plenty should could have done. She could have voiced opposition against it. Of course, that wouldn't have changed much in terms of going to war, but can you imagine how that would look today, with some many people, both conservative and liberal, who think the Iraq war was misguided? I'd even consider it a gold star on her record....which is currently void of gold stars. But of course, as a cold and calculating politician she had to follow the majority.

Stop being absurd, she is not the one who fucking manufactured intelligence. Her name is not Dick Cheney. She is not a warmonger.

But don't buy Trump's B.S. that he vocally opposed the war before it began (I assume you've only taken his word for it--I'm curious if you have other data). So far as I can tell, there's nothing in the record suggesting he did (and is there anyone on the planet more vocal about his opinions that Trump?). The only Trump pre-war comment that can be found is an answer he gave to Howard Stern when asked if he supported the war. "Yeah, I guess so," was his response. In retrospect, he probably hates the war because it hurt his junk bond financing for his failing casinos.

The whole article is a sobering read. Klein is saying the same thing the National Review, Cruz, Rubio, Perry, and yes, Romney said before the nomination. And despite his obvious bias, he is right. No matter how inept Clinton is, right now her political party is the normal, more sane choice.

Have I got a podcast for you:

How one sentence—just 60 words written in the hours after the September 11 attacks—became the legal foundation for the "war on terror."

Although you can score some cheap political points by referring to Clinton's previous support of the war, there were precious few who urged caution. And their patriotism was attacked. If she supported the war for political reasons, she certainly wasn't alone.
"...you pointy-headed autopsy nerd. Do you think it's possible for you to post without using words like "hilarious," "absurd," "canard," and "truther"? Your bare assertions do not make it so. Maybe your reasoning is too stunted and your vocabulary is too limited to go without these epithets."

so I was thinking today of what the worst case scenario of a trump and clinton presidency is.

                      Clinton: Obama part 3

Trump: I dont even know. Trade wars that result in bad economic performance, stocks plummet when he wins, just overall bad for economy. In foreign policy, no one respects us, he insults every leader who doubts him, not sure on actual war front though.

On Trump he will reform our foreign policy to line up to serve Putin's needs.

You realize that they said the same stuff about presidential candidate Reagan. Wait, maybe you're too young to remember. Hmmmm, now I feel old.

No, they didn't. Reagan and Trump are as dissimilar as it gets.

The Frank Ryan's and Maximus' of that era. The press and his opponents as well. Reagan didn't give a crap about being politically correct (even though that wasn't really a thing in those days) and he was a straight talker. His opposition thought his foreign policy would wreck our international relations and possibly ignite a nuclear war with Russia. They also hated his ideas on trade and thought he would cause all kinds of economic harm.
