And people want to debate the effect of pot smoking on the brain.Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!
For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.
Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

If we should hvae intervened in WWII? WTH? I can only assume he meant intervene in Europe because in the Pacific theatre WWII intervened in us when we woke up one Sunday to find most of our fleet at the bottom of Pearl Harbor. WHat dopey thing to say.Originally posted by Northwestcoug View Post

We intervened militarily in Europe after Hitler declared war on us a few days after pearl harbor, as a result of a secret pact he had made with the Japanese.Originally posted by creekster View PostIf we should hvae intervened in WWII? I understand the legality, but his point was normative or strategic. If you didn't care about the continent, and didn't care about Russia (and the possibility that Russia might win and itself control the continent) then you could argue that Europe didn't make much sense. In fact, that we wouldn't intervene was something Churchill worried about a lot in 39-42, as he feared we would just focus on the Japanese. So maybe the idea that we SHOULDN'T have intervened is a discussion you could have about Europe, but it makes no sense whatsoever in the Pacific.Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View PostWe intervened militarily in Europe after Hitler declared war on us a few days after pearl harbor, as a result of a secret pact he had made with the Japanese.
But thanks for the help with history. And, to be clear, I think it is a stupid thing to say from any perspective, but even more so if you're talking about the Pacific, becasue we didn't intervene.
(btw, some would argue we had intervened in europe through lend/lease long before. My guess is the Libertarians would have objected to that program as many did back then)PLesa excuse the tpyos.

I can't imagine a more righteous war than WW2. Sad that the Brits had to go it alone for so long on the Western front."There is no creature more arrogant than a self-righteous libertarian on the web, am I right? Those folks are just intolerable."

Huntsman is a pretty unimpressive leader, so no thanks.Originally posted by clackamascoug View PostWith Trump in the process of hanging the Constitution by a thread, it's time for the Elders of the Church to step up.
Has Jon Huntsman paid his back tithing and gotten a temple recommend? Or is there another shooter on the grassy knoll.

Mitt's peeps keep saying it's not him, but I'm hoping they're wrong. Though I'll take anyone right now I'm pretty sure Mitt running and winning would be the best comeback in the history of America. Like unmitigated disaster to unqualified success in just a few short months.Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View Post

I would love to see it happen. I can't think of a more perfect time for an independent run. Even if he lost badly, he would have my respect and gratitude.Originally posted by YOhio View PostMitt's peeps keep saying it's not him, but I'm hoping they're wrong. Not sure I get this Independent run. The Independent doesn't have a prayer of winning. If these people want Trump to lose so bad, why not come out and endorse Hillary.
As far as Bill Crystal goes, I think I remember disliking him when he kept dissing Romney during Romney's primary run. He (Crystal) reminds me of Erik Erickson and that isn't a compliment
