Have yall discussed this here yet? https://www.yahoo.com/politics/donal...537878070.html
Yahoo News asked Trump whether his push for increased surveillance of American Muslims could include warrantless searches. He suggested he would consider a series of drastic measures.
“We’re going to have to do things that we never did before. And some people are going to be upset about it, but I think that now everybody is feeling that security is going to rule,” Trump said. “And certain things will be done that we never thought would happen in this country in terms of information and learning about the enemy. And so we’re going to have to do certain things that were frankly unthinkable a year ago.”
Yahoo News asked Trump whether this level of tracking might require registering Muslims in a database or giving them a form of special identification that noted their religion. He wouldn’t rule it out.
“We’re going to have to — we’re going to have to look at a lot of things very closely,” Trump said when presented with the idea. “We’re going to have to look at the mosques. We’re going to have to look very, very carefully.”"Wuap's "problem" is that he is smart & principled & committed to a moral course of action. His actions are supposed to reflect his ethical code.
The rest of us rarely bother to think about our actions." --Solon

"Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

Rubio is trying to outtrump Trump. Good hell.
Of the four leading TOP candidates it appears as if Ted Cruz is the most send. I'm not kidding.Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

It bothers me that Trump and others get so much support for the "build a wall" approach to immigration. Yet another report has come out showing that for the past 2-3 years, we've been experiencing a net outflow of Mexicans. And that's on top of other reports that show illegal immigrants are a net plus to the economy--I can't link one at the moment, but it makes sense given most provide services cheaply, pay into an SS system from which they won't draw anything, and pump taxes and spending dollars back into the economy. That doesn't mean we shouldn't have reasonable regulations for entrance, of course.
As for the states refusing to accept Syrian refugees, I presume they'd prefer to put them on a ship like the St. Louis or in a camp at Manazar or Topaz. This is a great opportunity for a Republican candidate to step up and show some real leadership rather than pander to the fears of a public genuinely concerned about terrorism, but also very compassionate and willing to do what it takes to help others. Building walls and excluding the vast majority of refugees who are simply seeking survival and a better life isn't leadership.

But it costs money. With a country that has 18.6 Trillion in debt which is more than our GDP, somebody need to stop enough is enough. We don't even support our veterans but we want to host people unfamiliar and not skilled to cope with our economy?Originally posted by PaloAltoCougar View PostIt bothers me that Trump and others get so much support for the "build a wall" approach to immigration. Meh. It is pretty simple. Meh....he wants to close down any place where radicals are "inspired", be it a cafe, diner, or internet site. I don't have a problem with that goal, but I would need more specifics about how he would accomplish that.Originally posted by Color Me Badd Fan View PostLook up what he said to Megan Kelly.

Good luck with those 'specifics'. Rubio just joined the rest of the GOP nominees in the race-to-the-xenophobic bottom. I mostly like Rubio, despite his inexperience he can give a good speech, and I would hope if elected he would steer away from the hard right. But I detest how many of the candidates feel they have to pander to low-information voters.Originally posted by imanihonjin View PostMeh....he wants to close down any place where radicals are "inspired", be it a cafe, diner, or internet site.
