I hope the young college students are not who candidates feel they have to cater to in order to get elected. College students in general are clueless as to how the real world works and functions.

The more I watch and listen, the more I really hop John Kasich rises to the top.

Does he have "a pen and a phone" and promise to sign an Executive Order that makes the BYU honor code null and void?

I'm choosing to mostly ignore your fatuity here and instead overwhelm you with so much data that you'll maybe, just maybe, realize that you have reams to read on this subject before you can contribute meaningfully to any conversation on this topic.

I have promised not to express views on "that" matter anymore.

You mean the one that just took control of both houses last year?

              control of BOTH houses???

there is only one house that matters and the GOP isn't controlling it anytime soon.

Yeah, sure. The dems have really shown how far behind them they have put the GOP with the stellar group of nominees they have presented so far. I would agree that the White House is the dems to lose, but they aren't really helping themselves at this point.

The demise of the Republican party is gleefully talked about in the liberal media. Of course you also get the far righties who get to do their thing on radio and TV and have a louder voice than they really represent.

So if you aren't into thinking but just reacting, you too might buy into the demise of the Republican party. The party that not only controls the Senate and house, but 31 out of 50 governors, 36 out of 50 state senates and 33 out of 50 state legislatures.

then we agree. The dems will win again. I can't speak to whether they are "helping themselves" when they are already the front-runner to win anyway.

I dont think we will appreciate the gap until the race really begins in earnest and GOP nominees start talking daily about stupid things like homophobic-based policy making, illegal aliens crossing the border, maybe mix in a rape or abortion rant, etc. This is what has to change if the GOP is going to make up ground.

I remember many here thought Mitt was going to expose Obama during debates and outspend him at every turn. Well, turns out that you could make a decent argument that he did both of those things....lots of good that did.

I like Jeb, have liked that dude for a long time. Unfortunately, I think his name may carry too much baggage.

This is going to be a great race. Candidates for both sides are a mess. It should really make for an interesting run up. I can't wait.

But, my vote matters! Not in the primaries because my state is one of the last to vote, or in the general election because my state is already pledging their electoral votes to the Democrat, but it counts in my mind!

I remember Jeb doing an interview back when he was governor and W was POTUS. I couldn't help but wonder how W got the presidential gig instead of Jeb.
