Carson had his Muslim line over the weekend which took away the news coverage from Donald Trump's answer to the Imus troll. There were signs that Trump was about to start losing support. Maybe Carson is the next guy to nosedive.

And then there's Fiorina who seems the most capable at beating back Trump. I mentioned this article yesterday, but it's definitely worth a read:

That's a good write up about her. She wasn't a good CEO and made a really bad decision on the Compaq purchase. Although, many people in my area were happy with the acquisition since they worked for Compaq and it was tanking at the time. Saved some jobs around my current hometown.

Fiorina is probably competent, but she's not really president material given her background. She should go the Mitt route and be a governor somewhere to get some executive experience in the public field.

Hillary will kill Trump. The press is treating Donald as entertainment and good for ratings. If he ends up going up against Hillary they will put a far different light on all of his outlandish statements.

Sadly it feels like there are 3 parties. The democrats who have their share of wacko's, but they hang together with the non-wacko's. The republicans have their wacko's who if they feel like they aren't getting their way will show the other republicans by not participating. I blame them for us having President Obama, not the democrats.

This whole thing is kind of sad. For me anyway.

The media has been trying to portray Trump negatively already. It's just not having any effect. It will possibly have effect once he gets nominated, only because the polls then will have to ask everyone and not just redneck southern republican populists from South Carolina likely to vote in the republican primary. In other words, the main reason right now is because about who the polls are sampling, IMO. If you look at polls that have to talk to a general election type sample because they're asking who they would pick between Trump and Hillary, Trump gets clobbered.

The other problem is the media doesn't want to offend its audience. Trump has rapidly become the candidate of choice for the southern redneck faction who are the largest audience for Fox News. These folks tend to be lower educated, lower income, socially conservative but a little economically liberal who distrust establishment type politicians and think foreigners and immigrants and Obama are to blame for the fact that they don't make a lot of money and live in a trailer.

I think it used to be called "anal retentitive" (implying that they have tight sphincters). But it get hards to say anal retentive all the time, so it's been shortened to "anal" as a convention of convienience.

I'd counter that most backwoods rednecks (and I know a few) are not blaming anyone for their lack of money or their trailer. They live that way because they like it as it allows them to live as they please without people (or the government) intruding on them. They probably also like Trump, because most of them are also xenophobes and racists.
