    Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

From my aunt, solidly in the top 2% of US income and someone who should really know better:

I don't condone what he said. He shouldn't have said it. But at least he doesn't have a trail of dead bodies behind him like Bill and Hillary!!!
        I blame Fox News.

Until he releases his tax returns, it's impossible to know just how many dead bodies Trump really has.

Go ahead. But you should also blame whoever convinces otherwise sane people that the Clintons are murderers.

Don't know you're aunt, but I question the judgement and thinking of people who truly believe the Clinton's murdered people. Don't know if I'd call them insane, but they need to own their inability to think critically in spite of their hatred for Bill and Hill. We should hold them to their craziness. Blaming some news organization or commentators is a cop out.

Congressional and Senate Republicans are abandoning Trump in droves. That conversation is so awful. Some are calling on him to drop out.

If I were Mike Pence, I would resign from the ticket.
Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

This kind of reaction makes sense to me. We are at the point now where the only possible way one could justify voting for Trump is claiming that Clinton is guilty of murder.

                          I doubt it's that simple.

Mike Pence is the Republicans' only chance to get their man in the white house... it is too late to remove Trump from the ballot:

There’s no longer any way for Republicans to boot Donald Trump from the ballot

More than 34,000 Republican voters have already cast their ballots for the 2016 general election according to the U.S. Election Project, 8,000 of them in the battleground state of North Carolina and another 5,000 in Florida. Not all of those ballots were cast for Donald Trump, it's safe to assume, but it's more than likely that most of them were. And that, in a nutshell, is why it's far too late for the Republican Party to dump Donald Trump from their ticket.

                              [...]

Update: Richard Winger of Ballot Access News emailed to note that electors have in the past voted for a vice presidential candidate who was substituted in at the last minute (and therefore didn't appear on the ballot). That happened in both 1912 and 1968. In neither case did the ticket actually win.

But who wants to vote for a guy that was dumb enough to get on the same ticket as Trump? The republicans might as well #FeelTheJohnson.

34000 votes out of how many millions? I realize how close Florida has been in the past, but that's 8000 votes and the winning margin is likely to be more than that.

Besides, Trump is a lock to lose. Employing some far-fetched strategy to get a 1% chance is better than sticking with Trump.
