My SiL is going to the DNC as a Code Pink person. She was trying to explain how it all worked to us today.

I learned on my drive home that Donald J. Trump has a track record of accomplishing the impossible. With that kind of background I don't see how you could vote for anyone else. He, apparently, gets extra motivated when you tell him he can't do something. Seems like a real go getter.

This analysis also ignores the less sexy aspects of large-scale engineering projects: surveying, land acquisition, environmental review, geological studies, maintenance, excavating for foundations, and so on. Theoretical President Trump may be able to executive-order his way through the laser grid of lawsuits that normally impede this kind of work, but he can’t ignore the physical realities of construction.

CLEVELAND -- One of Donald Trump's more controversial proposals is the plan to build a wall between the U.S. and Mexico. Now, he's breaking down the plan behind how the wall would be paid for.


Trump said building the wall will cost $5 billion to $10 billion, and he's said all along that it will be Mexico that pays for the wall.


"It's an easy decision for Mexico: Make a one-time payment of 5 to 10 billion dollars to ensure that $24 billion continues to flow into their country year after year," Trump says on donaldjtrump.com.


The $24 billion Trump is talking about is the amount of money Mexican nationals make in the United States and send back to their families in Mexico. According to Trump, most of that money is sent by "illegal aliens."


If the Mexican government doesn't pay for the wall, Trump says he will stop that money from leaving the U.S. by requiring that before any transaction takes place, the person sending the money has to prove they are in the U.S. legally.

Trump describes this money as "de facto welfare for poor families in Mexico."


If Mexico still doesn't come around, Trump says he'll begin tougher enforcement on trade tariffs and existing trade rules.


Then he'll start "canceling visas," calling the hundreds of thousands of visas granted to Mexican nationals every year "one of our greatest leverage points."


And finally, if Mexico still doesn't pay, he'll increase visa fees and use that money to pay for the wall.


Whether this plan is feasible or even legal will require further analysis.

I am really tired of hearing some outrageous thing someone said and then finding out what is being said is way out of context (I am speaking of jounalists and anchors). It is one of the reasons I got tired of watching Hannity. Anything Pres. Obama or even Michelle said Hannity would take out bits and pieces to rip on them. Heck, if you can't rip on someone using the full text, then your credibility is shot, at least with me.

By the way I need to check out Don Lemon's ratings. They must have gone up a lot over the last few months. When someone says something he doesn't like, he now gives the you aren't being honest. He has gotten pretty full of himself. Granted I just watch him lately as I channel surf so maybe I just catch him at the wrong time.

I have always thought of you as being quite the forgiving guy and one I would not think of as a "one and done" type of thinker. I haven't noticed, are you on the Mitt write in bandwagon.
