Trump was looking at the declining poll numbers and listening to his other campaign manager.

Maybe we'll get some more wacko comments from Trump about how great Putin is.

I'm waiting to see who W Bush endorses. I trust his instincts.

            • So the only thing I like about Trump is that he's disrupting the traditional political model by avoiding fundraising, taking any interview, using Twitter himself and exploiting free media. This morning he's getting trashed for his FEC filing. While he's rightly torched for using political money to pay his businesses and family, I get annoyed at the criticisms of his raise amount. Money in politics isn't just bad, it's also largely unnecessary. I just wish a better candidate had upended the model.

Stop sticking up for him. It's unbecoming.

I would love for the US to follow the election model of parliamentary democracies; snap elections can be called but then there's only 30 days to campaign. Money still plays a part in those elections, though I assume the election laws are much more stringent than the US's. Having said that, you absolutely need a large amount of money to win a US election. It may be unethical and slimy, and we can hope for something better in the future, but it's a requirement today.

Until it gets better, let us share many LOLs as the man who is supposedly so good with business and common sense runs a threadbare campaign propelled only by his ego:

Donald J. Trump enters the general election campaign laboring under the worst financial and organizational disadvantage of any major party nominee in recent history, placing both his candidacy and his party in political peril.

Mr. Trump began June with just $1.3 million in cash on hand, a figure more typical for a campaign for the House of Representatives than the White House. He trailed Hillary Clinton, who raised more than $28 million in May, by more than $41 million, according to reports filed late Monday night with the Federal Election Commission.

He has a staff of around 70 people — compared with nearly 700 for Mrs. Clinton — suggesting only the barest effort toward preparing to contest swing states this fall. And he fired his campaign manager, Corey Lewandowski, on Monday, after concerns among allies and donors about his ability to run a competitive race.

Pathetic. Absolutely, utterly, pathetic. The democrats run a candidate more unpopular than Gore or Kerry, and the GOP blows it by handing the reigns to Trump.

The people who vote in GOP primaries and voted for Trump have blown it.

I would argue that it was the GOP who still blew it. They are the ones who green-lighted such a huge variation in caucus and primary rules, which then allowed Trump supporters to vote him in.

A very valid point. I have posted since Trump announced that he was an egotistical blow hard. It's not like Trump has fooled people by acting like he isn't the loudmouth jerk he is. They still voted for the guy.

It is a well know fact on here that I dislike demo policies. I loathe the institution called the press and how they try to affect the outcome of elections at the same time clamoring for finance reform. Hillary has rubbed me the wrong way forever. One of the smartest lawyers in America is another farce perpetuated by some of the press. Smart people don't pull the crap she and Bill do. Conniving people who think they are smarter and better than everyone do pull the crap they do.

Donald vs Hillary?? I don't know what this says about our political system and the voting public, but whatever it says it isn't positive.

SU, I actually don't like Donald Trump so I apologize for the misunderstanding! I didn't mean for it to come off that way.

You realize he'll get the last laugh. He's going to get annihilated, but it's now clear that he has a Potempkin campaign. He just snookered all the hillbillies. And now he's wrecked the party of Lincoln. It's going to be like that Monty Python skit. His limbs will be cut off and he'll be gushing blood and laughing like hell.

I think so too, but I have thought he would fade into black only moments after announcing his candidacy. It wouldn't shock me to see him win. I don't think he will, but I think any and all of the shock I can muster in this election cycle has worked its way out of me already.
