  • Trump says he will skip Monday's Fox News debate

Donald Trump said on Wednesday that he will not participate in Monday's Fox News debate, and will instead speak at AIPAC.
“I’m doing a major speech in front of a very important group of people that night," Trump said on "Fox & Friends."

He added that the Republican candidates have had enough primetime debates. "I think it's enough," he said.

I really impugn both Hillary's and Drumpf's actions. They are impugnable people.

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

I agree. I like it. I'm going to try to use it around work and gauge the reaction.

          • LOL... Yeah, how much damage can a bad president do?

Ben Carson: Even if Trump's a bad president, it'll only be 4 years

Ben Carson said on Monday that even if Donald Trump turned out to be a lousy president, he’ll only be in office for four years.

"Even if Donald Trump turns out not to be such a great president, which I don't think is the case, I think he's going to surround himself with really good people, but even if he didn't, we're only looking at four years as opposed to multiple generations and perhaps the loss of the American dream forever," Carson told Newsmax's Steve Malzberg.

            • No offense to Carson as he is quite likeable. However, it goes to show you someone can be brilliant in some area, perhaps surgery or spelling, but still came make some really dumb statements.

I deem you to be a reasonable and intelligent fellow, so I am curious about what libertarians believe. I admit my knowledge is limited and tainted by the Paul's, father and son.

From what little I know, against a large military, fiscally conservative, in the so called social issues basically let everyone do there own thing, think the Fed should be abolished or at least limited.

First am I right or wrong and secondly if right, isn't Trump pretty close to libertarian thought?

I agree it's a perfectly cromulent word, and its use embiggens even the humblest of men.

https://www.lp.org/platform Which says nothing about abolishing the Fed but I agree with Rand Paul that it should be audited so we know how the sausage was made.

This is a little dated (and his views on things may have changed 3-4 times by now) but Trump isn't a Libertarian... https://www.lp.org/news/press-releas...s-donald-trump

Trump is all over the ball park and backtracks on his policies. This is probably the biggest reason I think he could be a disaster. He could advocate just about anything.

That said, I read the piece on what libertarians believe and I find myself agreeing with a lot of it. I can't agree with the open border thing. I would like a pathway to citizenship for those who have come illegally. What is done, is done. However, I am for full enfocement of our laws from now on.

The current Trump is not for more wars. Kicking the hell out of ISIS is not more wars in my opinion. He has been very strong on condemning Bush for the Iraq invasion, over the top in my opinion.

The current Trump is neutral between Israel and their enemies. He wants to renegotiate the Iran deal, not kill it. Build up the military but I don't see him calling for us to use the military to enforce our will on anyone.

Trade does seem to be a disagreement.

The current Trump seems in line with health care policies. Surely libertarians believe in the government regulating somethings, like for instance the age to get a drivers license. I hope libertarians aren't for an everyone for themselves policy.

While there are differences, I think the current Donald Trump's thoughts are more in line with libertarians than either liberal democrats or far right conservatives.

You sound like politico or that other goofy site being quoted so much on here.

They knew it was a terrorist attack or cutting them some huge slack, they were confused. Then why go out everywhere with the video story if they weren't sure.

It would have been a major point for the republican candidate and they weren't thinking about Hillary's run years later.
Last summer I read a biography of John Foster Dulles and his brother Allen. Often, State Department missives have an international audience in mind and sometimes Presidents have directed State Department statements for undisclosed reasons. Also, miscommunication is an infestation in international affairs and is regularly used in a strategic fashion, even with one's own supervisors. The folks at State are a slippery lot, even with each other, and that has always been so.

I don't think HRC is a saint, but the SD simply not having it's ducks in a row is a real possibility.

So you think Hillary and President Obama heard both stories and with some people they advocated the one possibility and with others they advocated another version?

It was OK to tell Chelsea the one version, but the citizens of the US needed to hear the other version.

It is the ease with which she is OK with throwing people under the bus to save herself. Maybe that is why Bill and Hillary are attracted to each other.

They threw the guy who did the video under the bus. She is throwing the mother of one of the killed Americans under the bus. She threw President Clinton's accusers under the bus. She is the ultimate the ends justify the means. In that way I think she and Trump are exactly alike and were such good buddies until he decided to become a republican.

In short, libertarians beleive the only role of government is to protect property rights and provide national defense. That's it. Essentially don't hurt other people and don't take their stuff.
