His presidency hasn't been a rousing success, but given the hand he was dealt coming into office he hasn't totally screwed everything up. The economy is okay. Plus, gay people are much more accepted and equal in the eyes of the law. Bin Laden is finally dead...although he's allowed ISIS and Russia to do whatever they want.

We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. • Christie suspends his campaign...I thought he'd stick with it for another round.

                • Some of you are really at your best during election season. So much hand wringing and mental gymnastics.

With Hillary Clinton or Bernie Sanders as your President there is no doubt that we will have some new IPUs around here this time next year. Good times.

This was due to a SCOTUS decision, not anything Obama did.

                      • When Bernie goes through his list of things he is going to do and I see especially college students buying into it I wonder if simple economics is just skipped in high school. I can see the uneducated poor buying into his message as they probably sincerely believe there are enough billionaires to take care of everyone.

First off if you tax these people at 90%, they will still be billionaires. There is no way in hades you will raise enough money to pay for his proposals. Ok let's move on to millionaires. I will bet 70% of the millionaires are retired. Let's take someone who has saved for retirement and has 2 million in assets. At 5% that's $100,000 a year. That's a nice income but not huge. You are not going to raise a heck of a lot of money from the millionaires.

I keep hearing the top 1%, that's around $350,000 in income a year. Tax the heck out of these folks. A lot are probably in the 40-60 year old range. So you are going to hammer them tax wise so they can't save for retirement? This will keep more people from becoming multi-millionaires or even millionaires. Tell me how this hurts the existing millionaires and billionaires.

The top 20 people own x amount of the wealth. The top 1% have........ These arguments are so bogus as if to promise people if only we tax their income higher we can pay for all the free stuff for everyone else.

If you really want to get even with them you have to take their wealth away from them. Taking their income away just isn't going to bring in enough funds.

I know some on here support Sanders. Educate me as to how he is going to pay for his massive spending?

                        • With his landslide win, Bernie will take fewer NH delegates than Hillary.

One of the grandest benefits of the enlightenment was the realization that our moral sense must be based on the welfare of living individuals, not on their immortal souls. Honest and passionate folks can strongly disagree regarding spiritual matters, so it's imperative that we not allow such considerations to infringe on the real happiness of real people.

The law change was, but Obama changing his stance on marriage equality was a huge piece of it, which helped keep the momentum going for the public to continue to change as well.

How many people do you think changed their mind on gay rights when Obama's position on gay rights "evolved"?
