Trump seems to have slight lead in places like Florida, Ohio and Iowa. I always thought that Colorado would be the most unattainable for Trump and would be the state that gave Hillary the election if all else faile, but even that one is just a couple points.

But...with Hillary sitting at 263 and if Trump hits an inside the park homerun with Nevada, Colorado, Maine 2, North Carolina and Florida (I actually think Trump is going to win Ohio and Iowa -- that's what the polls are indicating) -- then if McMullin wins Utah, we have the following result:

    Hillary, 263
    Trump, 269
    McMullin, 6

Goes to the House. The McMullin miracle is still alive!

Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

    • Did anyone mention that McMullin said in an interview today that his mother is now in a same sex marriage?

So wait... if it goes to the house, can McMullin be picked to be president?

Get rid of mandatory witholdings and make us all write a check yearly, quarterly, monthly for income, FICA and medicare if you want people to be more thoughful. With mandatory witholdings many consider their refund a gift from the government.

Yes. The 12 amendment says the House decides between the top 3 electoral vote getters.

The Trump people/Hannity yelling and screaming about McMullin and Utah voters are idiots. McMullin isn't going to cause Trump to lose to Hillary in electoral votes (unless Hillary ends up winning Utah which I find unlikely). McMullin can only prevent Trump from getting over 270 electoral voters.

Others have said that they think some state delegations would do the thing that is best for the country and pick Hillary over Trump. I find that unlikely, no GOP controlled delegation will do that and the GOP initially would have enough states to go party line and put in the GOP nominee if it were Trump vs. Hillary vs. Stein. The real question is whether the Democratically controlled states would team up with a handful of states and put McMullin through as the better alternative to Trump. Honestly, I don't think they'd do that either. They would view Trump as a trainwreck for the GOP during his one term as president and they'd be better off beating him in 4 years as opposed to putting in a potentially competent conservative like McMullin.

probably so, but you would hope they'd do what's best for the country and not put a crazy man in charge of the nuclear codes.

best case scenario is the house deadlocking and the senate picking the vp to be president

LOL... McMullin could win with 6 electoral votes. What a great way to end this election. I assume that McMullin is actually on the ballot in Utah (and folks don't have to write him in).

So the what could happen... McMullin wins Utah and gets the 6 electoral votes. Neither Hillary or the Donald get 270. The Libertarians have a strong showing in the other 50 states (being on the ballot and not being hillary or donald) and get a double digit percentage. The House notices that the american people are don't like the top candidates and give it to McMullin as a compromise. OK, I can live with that.

Come on all you damn Utahns... get out and vote for McMullin!

According to my FB feed, McMullin is just a secret plot by the Hillary machine to draw votes away from Trump leading to a Hillary victory.
