Not having sufficient power backup is clearly not the standard of care and is entirely negligent. I'd be shaking in my boots if I were in charge there.Originally posted by Donuthole View PostOr not (act of God)."Don't expect I'll see you 'till after the race"

Not having sufficient power backup to withstand a storm like NYC hasn't seen in how many years? Ever? Explain the foreseeability there.Originally posted by doctorcoug View PostNot having sufficient power backup is clearly not the standard of care and is entirely negligent. Oh, and "clearly not the standard of care" doesn't even make sense. Stick to the medicine. Power goes out all the time in various parts of the country...for extended periods of time (my hospital was without power for 6 days). Having redundant backup systems is the standard of care in medicine...even for acts of god.Originally posted by Donuthole View PostNot having sufficient power backup to withstand a storm like NYC hasn't seen in how many years? Maybe they understand the limitations of their backup system. Maybe there is a finite limit on the time it can function. Maybe they're deciding to get out while the getting is good. We don't know all the facts that have led to this decision. Certainly not based off a filmsy news report.Originally posted by doctorcoug View PostPower goes out all the time in various parts of the country...for extended periods of time (my hospital was without power for 6 days).
