    Man, hell on Earth is a football game for 6-year-olds in 50F with 80% humidity and steady winds at 15.5 mph, gusting in the upper 20's.

              NYU hospital evacuating the NICU and PICU...this is really bad news for this hospital. If any kid dies in transport this is gift wrapped for any med mal attorney.

                  I got out on Friday. Midtown power seems down as we look to be on back up systems right now. This is incredible...non-New Yorkers have little appreciation for how completely screwed the city is without subway this wk...

                      Not having sufficient power backup to withstand a storm like NYC hasn't seen in how many years? Ever? Explain the foreseeability there.

                      Oh, and "clearly not the standard of care" doesn't even make sense. Stick to the medicine. Leave the law to the lawyers.

                          Power goes out all the time in various parts of the country...for extended periods of time (my hospital was without power for 6 days). Having redundant backup systems is the standard of care in medicine...even for acts of god.

                                Maybe they understand the limitations of their backup system. Maybe there is a finite limit on the time it can function. Maybe they're deciding to get out while the getting is good. We don't know all the facts that have led to this decision. Certainly not based off a filmsy news report.
