  • If I was Biden's opponent I'd run ads with cuts from debate with "weird joe" looks and comments.

    • No zingers or sound clips, the takeaway will be that Ryan was mildly disappointing and Biden was a total asshole, but most of the press will be about the latter.
Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

But Biden seriously looked like a knob. While men will look at who's being the biggest asshole and think he's winning because he's exercising dominance, women look at it and just think he's an asshole.

Again, Gore actually won the first debate in 2000 but looked like a total asshole in the process.
My favorite Bush v. Gore debate moment. I love the little nod Bush gives.

CNN's poll of likely voters, I believe. At least they reported those same numbers.

That was Bush v. Gore III. Gore's sighing was the takeaway the first time and he was roundly criticized. In response, Gore was too nice in the second debate. In the third debate he invaded Bush's personal space and looked like a dick again.

Yes. I'm surprised. Biden must have turned off more than I thought.

I agree that Ryan didn't do that well -- but I could see how people who knew almost nothing about Paul Ryan before tonight could have thought he seemed pretty smart and polished.

I think it's really hard for political junkies like those who post in a thread like this to understand how the average guy/gal who doesn't follow politics at all might perceive a debate like this one.
