I'll say it again. The debate tonight again emphasized just how strong Romney was last week.

Knock it off. This board has enough problems without a dose of middle-age lechery.

I was thinking about the age difference between Biden and Ryan and then i stumbled on a rather obscure bit of trivia. There's only been one person on any presidential ticket that was born in the 1950s, John Edwards.Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

Romney was assertive while being respectful. He was aggressive without being condescending. He controlled the flow and stayed even throughout. He was a much better communicator then either of the men tonight. And he did it against a man thought to be an excellent public speaker. It is very difficult to score a blowout at this level. He did it and he did it with incredible precision while not stepping over the line.Originally posted by pellegrino View Posthow so?A man who views the world the same at fifty as he did at twenty has wasted thirty years of his life. - Mohammad Ali

I agree. In some strange way, tonight's fiasco makes Mitt appear to be the one adult among the four.Originally posted by CJF View PostRomney was assertive while being respectful. For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.
Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

That was hard to watch. From a lawyer's perspective, watching Biden was like watching an unskilled or unprepared lawyer in a deposition, who keeps interrupting so that the transcript will be unreadable. I'll bet lots of people just turned off their TVs or changed the channel.
Over time, I've got to think Biden will look worse and worse as the YouTubes get made and watched, and as more and more people drill down into what he said and how he said it. Ryan did a good job of maintaining his composure in the face of boorish behavior.
Weird debate. Won't have any impact on the race, I think.“There is a great deal of difference in believing something still, and believing it again.”
