Don't worry about people stealing your ideas. If your ideas are any good, you'll have to ram them down people's throats.

It apppears that neither you or Creekster understood his point.

Perhaps you could elucidate just what that is then, since it isn't that the liberal media deep sixes stories they disapprove of.

Did you seriously just quote an entry by "Freddybear" on some site called "Slashdot" as a counterpoint to the mainstream media burying this story?

Au contraire. I understood his point. I was addressing the facts that he was referring to and his explanation of same. IOW, if the media had reported the good news and then Offered his explanation without mentioning the recession it would be evidence of poor research and analysis. The recession is THE market force at work here.

Slashdot is a popular news aggregation site amongst programmers and other tech folk, typically Unix/Linux heavy. "Freddybear" wrote the summary of the story and posted it to Slashdot. Clicking through the story will lead you to the actual story: http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/...0269ea5a3ca224

So no, I didn't quote a story by Freddybear, I used a news aggregation site popular in my profession and that is in my RSS feed reader that links through to an AP story covering the same thing that MRD said was buried by mainstream media.

Get yourself some fundamental education by learning about regression, time series analysis, credibility theory and experimental design. Afterwards, go back to all of this information and decide for yourself how taking a very narrow sliver of data relative to the history of the earth, especially given the historical heteroskedasticity found in global climate data, and by using very few predictor variables develop a robust climate model that can accurately isolate the mankind's influences on it.
Everything in life is an approximation.

His point is that while he believes there is evidence of climate change and that its a real problem it can be resolved through market forces instead of govt regulation. He is pointing out that the mainstream media is missing/avoiding this conclusion.

Well, since I'm incapable of picking out the point of a section of text with "Good News Goes Down the Memory Hole:" as the bolded section header and loaded with language such as "because the mainstream media studiously avoided this inconveniently positive development". Perhaps someone could fill me in on what the point was. Unless of course, its just good sport to try and make me hit a moving target.
