We are in the midst of the hottest *year* in the US since record keeping began. Don't worry though, if we don't spend money now to fix the problem, we can wait for things to get so bad that we can look back and say "Yup, that was global warming."

I think you're on to something. Global warming can simply be fixed by spending money.

I anxiously await your ideas on fixing it without spending money.

Two days ago it was so hot and humid here and I was like, wow, this global warming is getting bad. But then it got cooler and I'm going, well, maybe there really isn't global warming. It's crazy.
            Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

I did some extensive Googling yesterday and found a messageboard thread from 1934 where some Chicken Little was saying the same thing. The economy was in shambles, the world was being threatened by tyrannical leaders, the midwest was in the middle of a severe drought and people saw everything in black or white. My, how times change.

Did this messageboard also include people admitting there's a problem but not wanting to do anything to fix it until some magical future time?

If everybody suddenly stopped spending money I think a lot of environmental problems would soon resolve themselves. That said, I anxiously await ideas to fix global warming by spending money. I mean that, too. What are you recommending? Alternative energy sources? Additional regulation? Additional taxes on energy consumption? It isn't as if this is a new discussion and the United States government isn't taking the problem seriously. Billions have been spent exploring these avenues.

I'm choosing to mostly ignore your fatuity here and instead overwhelm you with so much data that you'll maybe, just maybe, realize that you have reams to read on this subject before you can contribute meaningfully to any conversation on this topic.

While billions have been spent I don't think enough is being spent. A certain political party has their head so far up their ass on this problem that not enough is being done. Is there a bigger threat to the entire planet than what we can do/have done to the environment?

Odd that you didn't answer the question. If throwing government money at a problem were the right solution to every problem then American kids would have the highest test scores in the world. It's not that I oppose federal spending to curb greenhouse emissions and develop more efficient and sustainable technologies. I support it. But not in the reactionary way you're describing where the aim is to spend more money as opposed to spend money more strategically.
