These Mia Love/Sarah Palin comparisons are hilarious. Seriously.
Let compare for a moment, shall we?
Both had their national "coming out" (so to speak) at the RNC. Both had quite minimal experience, primarily as mayors of small towns, with Palin serving a short time as governor. So that much is in common.
Now for the differences:
Palin sounds like a complete idiot each time she opens her mouth and during each interview. She makes Mia Love look like a Rhodes Scholar. She is a buffoon.
Mia Love is campaigning to be a junior congresswoman from Utah. Palin was campaigning to be a heartbeat away from the most powerful position in the world, behind a guy with one foot in the grave and the other on a banana peel. I still get the heebie jeebies just thinking of Palin as VP. For that matter, there is no way I would consider Mia Love to be a viable candidate for VP. There is absolutely no comparison between the two situations.
Back to the experience issue. SC and DDD are mocking her small-town mayor credentials. But what is a typical level of experience for a first-time congressional candidate? Current Utah congressional delegation (experience prior to running for congress):
Jason Chaffetz - chief of staff for John Huntsman
Jim Matheson (Love's opponent) - worked in the energy field. no political experience.
Rob Bishop - State legislator for 16 years. Head of Utah Republican Party. The least well-known or visible of the three, but had the most experience prior to entering office.
(And for the record, I had Palin pegged from day one.)
