"Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

I don't think you care to debate the merits of what Walker did. I'm not going to waste too much of my time. If someone bothered to or could do the same thing in California then you wouldn't have a city of 300,0000 filing for bankruptcy (you think what Walker did was shitty? Just wait and see what a bankruptcy court can and will do to these union contracts). I don't think you care to see the connection between the two situations. I think you'd care more if you had little or no seniority and were laid off from a public job as a result of a budget cut to fund the $100k per year pension of a current retiree -- a pension you know will never be there for you in the future because the compensation system in these places is totally unsustainable.
Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

Yesterday, Scott Walker opened the Wisconsin State Fair, as is traditionally done by the governor. But the unions couldn’t let their hyperpartisanship rest even for fifteen minutes, and they put on a disgraceful delay...
frank - just because they have the right to say something doesn't preclude them from being assholes when or how they say it.

Lets get one thing clear. YOU DO NOT KNOW WHAT I THINK. You don't know about my situation or insights. So spend your time telling other posters what they think.

So do you view those who protested over their collective bargaining rights being stripped away as assholes? I view them as workers trying to protect rights they had previously fought for. And I am seriously not in the mood to go twelve rounds every romney sychophant on this board.

I give Panetta a lot of the credit. He really was a nice surprise running the CIA and I hope he does as well as SecDef. I do give Obama credit for appointing Panetta, not getting in the way, and making the call to go when he was asked.

I can see an argument that those who chanted during the governor's remarks to open the state fair are disrespectful assholes.

I haven't had any interaction with them personally, so I decline to pass judgment one way or the other.

So the disrespectful union protesters at the state fair should not be lumped in with the union protesters in Madison?

P.S. Looks like the state fair was held in a suburb of Milwaukee.
