This is my problem with the Tea Party/Conservative element of the Republican Party. We could agree on 9 out of 10 issues and yet I'm a heathen for that 1 point of disagreement.Originally posted by oxcoug View PostOhhhhh - ZING. No "under the age of 60" wld describe me, not 71. As wld "under the age of 40."
I hope the Republican Party gets what it deserves. Namely Newt.

Actually I think a lot of those who support Obama are with AARP and over 60.Originally posted by SloanHater View PostUnder the age of 60?
It isn't really an age thing, it is a mind set thing.
I appreciate the attempt at humor though and the attempt would probably go over big in an Obama type crowd.

Interesting. I similarly overgeneralize all those who oppose Obama.Originally posted by byu71 View PostActually I think a lot of those who support Obama are with AARP and over 60.

Newt has raised $2 million. $1.7 million of that coming through online donations. With Adelson throwing another $5 million at Newt's PAC, he's ready to throw down in Florida.Originally posted by oxcoug View Post"Nobody listens to Turtle."-Turtlesigpic

Agreed. I hope that Obama will shake up his cabinet to start his 2nd term. I'd really like to see Cuomo get some national attention.Originally posted by RobinFinderson View PostTrue.
Whatever folks want to say about the two parties, the Dems seem to have the deeper bench when it comes to candidates people WANT to run for president. The problem with our last election was choosing between two extremely popular and capable candidates (Hillary and Obama), and Hillary continues to be a viable candidate for 2016, when she will enter the race as one of the most experienced world statesmen to ever seek that office. I'd love to see the mopping she'd do with a Bobby Jindal or Paul Ryan.
Paul Ryan might prove to be something in the long run. That depends on whether his leadership skills are as sharp as his ability to commit a conservative economic platform to paper in a way that doesn't get soundly rejected by moderates. I have to give the guy props, since he essentially tossed his body onto several 'third rail' issues and managed to walk away with nary a singed eyebrow. But that might also be indicative of the times, a tacit recognition of our serious spending problems.

Really, I thought only Obama wanted to run for President. Who is challenging him?
As far as a deep bench for the future, Cuomo, I buy that one. Who else? Surely you aren't thinking of Govenor Moon Beam??

I'm much more anti-Newt than I am pro-Romney. I'm fine with Romney losing the general, but I can't stand the possibility of him losing the primary to Newt."Discipleship is not a spectator sport.
