    Obama with Brown this morning

I was watching the newsconference this morning and Obama talked a lot about coming to listen and not to lecture (not so bad) and highlighted how much stimulus many of the G-20 were already doing. Sounds like behind closed doors the Euros in the G-20 gave him the stiff middle finger on U.S. demands for more stimulus from our economic allies.

Well, at least he's having tea with the queen. Add that to his having a fleet of helicopters, an airplane, and a resort in the Catoctins, and life is pretty cool.
    Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

I think the photos from the protests outside are far more interesting the news generated from inside:

There are political movement afoot in the world to which our American youth are mostly oblivious. But these folks consistently travel across the world to protest at these meetings. Maybe the revolution has already begun.

Who funds these traveling bands of protestors. Wouldn't it be hillarious if it was some community organizing group like Acorn.

Several of my students in the past attended these protests.

Is he still using Bush's helicopters? Last I heard he thought $11 billion for a new fleet was unnecessary.

I know some of these people....it's really hard to have any kind of dialogue with them, because they don't want to talk....they just want to protest.

I think they have every right to protest (provided they remain non-violent), but they try and halt everything by swarming, and things happen when that many people try and crowd into too small a space.

Protesting, in and of itself, is a healthy thing.......how some of these groups accomplish it is designed to get someone hurt so that they get some press....it's far more calculated than they'll ever admit.

Well it wouldn't be funny to me. Maybe you can help me see the humor you would find in something like that.

If you can't see the humor in it, then I can't help you see it.

Yes it is. They are very organized with message boards and planning committees that are eerily similar to terrorist cells.

Community Organizing got mocked. Then through the outrage of the press and maybe rightly so, those who mocked Community Organizing got put through the ringer.

My guess is that most community organizing stuff is good. However, I also think there are some that go under that guise who have motives that are strinkingly different from my beliefs and I could be funding them through my tax dollars.

To find out my tax dollars are going to this kind of protesting would be hillarious to me because of the irony.

My sense of humor allows me to see something quite funny in something I adamantly oppose. For instance, watching Keith Obermann and Crissy Matthews make jackasses out of themselves I find quite funny.

I tend to agree that the potential for violence is both understood and somewhat calculated. This is a movement intent on overthrowing capitalism, which these people see as a totally illegitimate and reckless force in the world. I tend to agree with their outlook about capitalism, but I have no stomach for violent revolution. I guess that just makes me feckless.
