I doubt Romney is hard on cash, and now isn't the time for him to be glad handing for money. So I suspect it's either 1 or 2. Either way, he's in big trouble.
I've heard a credible report that there were around 450 people at his $1K minimum per plate fundraiser in Boise.

When this fundraiser was originally scheduled at least a couple weeks ago, I don't think the campaign considered Michigan and/or Arizona to be in danger. I believe the fundraising stop was originally considered a quick ATM stop on the way to the Olympics anniversary celebration in SLC today.

The campaign burned through lots of money in Florida and needed to replenish its coffers.

Early the next year, Ann came to France for a semester abroad. The couple saw each other rarely and only under strict supervision. One of the church apostles, Howard W. Hunter, later church president, carried a message of greeting from Mitt to Ann in Grenoble, according to Donlu Thayer, who studied with Ann at the time.
Ann wrote to him that back at BYU she had started dating Kim S. Cameron, a student body vice president who would be voted the school’s “most preferred man.”...But in France, Romney took the news hard. Friends described him as being “useless” and “near tears.” He pressed intensely for reconciliation through a series of urgent letters.
Sounds like Mitt was really focused as a missionary.

“I remember Mitt explaining to me the benefits of married life,” said Clayton F. Foulger, a close friend who water-skied with Romney on Lake Utah and still spends summers at the family vacation home on Lake Winnipesaukee in New Hampshire. “He didn’t have to explain a lot. It was sort of self-evident. But he was appreciative of it, I’ll tell you.”

            • Mr. Hunt, you embarrassed yourself all those years ago. And now you repeat the story to the Washington Post? Some people never learn.

Terrell Hunt, the Cougar Man whose antiestablishment posture included the sporting of a controversial mustache, took Warner’s philosophy class with Romney. When Warner sharply critiqued Hunt’s 100-page final paper, the student responded with a letter asking, “Is the analysis on comments you made on my paper typical to the comments you made on other students in the class? In fact, I’d like to see your comments on Mitt Romney’s paper.”

Maybe they just assume he was following counsel?

Don't feel bad for Kim Cameron that he lost Ann to Mitt. He taught at Ricks for a year or two and lived in my ward. I was pretty young but his wife stirred in me feelings I had never felt before. She was smoking hot.

I don't feel bad for Kim Cameron, even though it must have been tough for a guy to go through life with the name Kim.

I feel bad for those French souls that might have heard the gospel but for Mitt apparently spending valuable time meeting up with his girlfriend multiple times (under strict supervision ), sitting around crying, writing desperate letters, and getting an Apostle to be his errand boy to pass love notes. Mitt must have been the inspiration for the Lock Your Heart talk.

It sounds like France was the perfect call for him being known for all that love stuff.

                            • That Wash. Po. story about Romney is lol funny.

On a sidenote, I agree with the GOP Senator who says we need a new candidate if Romney can't win the Michigan primary. I'm not sure if any of the A list choices will even want to get in this late unless some damaging economic news starts coming out.
Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”
