His biggest problem as a politician, IMO, is that being one just doesn't come naturally to him.Originally posted by CJF View PostLast night KSL replayed the 2002 Olympic opening ceremonies. I was a little surprised at how much better Mitt came off in that brief speech than he does on the stump. How was his last campaign disastrous? is it automatically disastrous if you lose? He made mistakes but still was the closest to beating mccain.Originally posted by TripletDaddy View PostI'm enjoying this Mitt meme....Mr Fix It, issue spotter, problem solver. This is a guy that ran a disastrous campaign last time and yo, he didn't solve it. He got creamed.

Wouldn't you say he fixed the issues he had last time around, though?Originally posted by TripletDaddy View PostI'm enjoying this Mitt meme....Mr Fix It, issue spotter, problem solver. No, not really.Originally posted by Commando View PostWouldn't you say he fixed the issues he had last time around, though?
His main criticisms from 2008: flip flopper while in Mass, too corporate/inability to connect, and he is Mormon.
What are the biggest criticisms this time around? Mostly the same. Admittedly, there isn't much he can do about any of the criticisms because they are either in his past and cannot be changed or out of his control and cannot be changed. The criticisms against his personality are mostly unfixable, as well. This isn't something that renting The King's Speech will resolve. His personality is what it is, for better and worse.
His surge this year as opposed to 2008 isn't really the result of him improving anything. He has pretty much been out of political office since the last election. It is the result of his competition being much weaker this year. There are zero electable candidates running against him. If he were running against maybe a Jeb Bush type he would get slaughtered.Fitter. Happier. More Productive.

Hmm...

It was nice of Romney to campaign for Paul on the front page of the NYT.

Santorum needs to take that video and digitally layer in a dog cage on top of the carOriginally posted by LA Ute View Post
"Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf
