  • Remember that time a cop murdered a guy for no reason in broad daylight and the only one arrested in the incident was the guy who filmed it?

Same. At least for manslaughter IMHO.

Meanwhile, I was pulled over last night after running a stop sign while turning right. Officer Friendly noted I didn't have my seat belt on at the time. (I had hastily fastened it after I was lit up.) Also, I did not have either my registration or proof of insurance in the car (left at home) and my diminutive 8-yo was riding shotgun w/o her booster. Got off with a warning. #crimingwhilewhite

      • I though this was pretty good from Jason Whitlock. The war on drugs is so stupid.

This put to words what I've been feeling but couldn't figure out how to get out. Thanks for posting this.

Barkley's labeling of rioters and looters as "scumbags" and "not real black people" is less offensive than the left-wing intellectuals who condoned the rioting and looting from the comfort of a TV studio. Baiting and/or suggesting to the poor, vulnerable and hopeless that they take risks you would not is cowardly, exploitive and narcissistic. It's a tactic of a demagogue. Demagoguery fuels TV.

Interesting. If I have a lawyer working for me, can he ask the court to delay a hearing because he has been traumatized earlier in the week?

You may be traumatized only by PC disturbances. Non-PC disturbances do not count.
"Guitar groups are on their way out, Mr Epstein."

Upon rejecting the Beatles, Dick Rowe told Brian Epstein of the January 1, 1962 audition for Decca, which signed Brian Poole and the Tremeloes instead.

Yeah that is disturbing. It happened in April...any word on if they are pursuing charges?

I thought this was pretty interesting about Doug Glanville being approached while shoveling snow in his own driveway.

I don't think that has been decided yet. He was just barely fired.

I was confused for a hotel porter/bellhop on occasion but never as a cop - I guess we members of the Long Gray Line will now say "neck back - don't shoot!" In the long run I think this Ferguson deal is going to deal a negative blow to both the black rights and anti-cop protest movements. I think the opinion of most Americans is that the jump from minority oppression/police brutality to the specifics of this case are not connecting. Continuing to make a big deal about the injustice of "Ferguson" steals from the more legitimate cases of police brutality and while I believe most Americans are sympathetic to the notion of historical racism playing a significant role in the poor circumstances in communities of color, the specifics of this case scream out that Michael Brown is dead because of his own piss poor decision making. Just a real poor judgement call by the black activist community to try and use that case as a dot connector.

Yep. Blood on the weapon and in the car and the autopsy and yep. Michael Brown is not the person this cause should get behind. Eric Garner on the other hand.
