  • Yet another study debunks the global warming pause.

    https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/...4310&tid=ss_tw

Indeed, the new Lewandowsky paper, co-authored with climate researcher James Risbey of Australia’s Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) and Harvard historian of science Naomi Oreskes, is part of a triumvirate of interdisciplinary studies by this team, debunking the “pause” using a variety of tools including social scientific techniques (Lewandowsky is a psychologist by training). The researchers have already found that in blind expert tests, 25 economists examining various temperature trends did not observe a “pause” — and have also suggested, with a larger group of collaborators, that scientists have fallen prey to the “pause” narrative because of a “seepage” of arguments by climate change doubters into the scientific literature.

“Basically our argument is that there is no such thing as a pause in global warming, and in fact, arguably there never has been,” says Lewandowsky. “What there has been is a fluctuation in warming, and they always occur,” he adds.

That’s right — in addition to all the devastating and obvious effects sea-level rise will produce on the planet, such as flooding and erosion, sea-level rise also has the more subtle, but nonetheless mind-boggling ability to alter the way the Earth rotates on its axis.

“If you melt ice sheets or glaciers, which happen to be close to to the poles, and all of that mass moves from the poles toward the equators, that movement is very similar [to] a figure skater who puts her arms out,” said the new paper’s lead author, Jerry Mitrovica, a professor of geophysics at Harvard University. “The melting of glaciers acts to slow the spin of the Earth in a measurable way.”

The Republican presidential front-runner repeatedly has said he isn’t “a believer” that humans have played a significant role in the Earth’s changing climate.

In his own tweets, Trump has called the concept of global warming everything from a “hoax” to “bull—-” to a scheme “created by and for the Chinese in order to make U.S. manufacturing non-competitive.” (He later said he was joking about the China tweet).

That still puts it in the 99th percentile.

                  • So I did a little searching for what Cruz thinks about global warming...

LOL... I thought "magna cum laude" Princeton/Harvard grads were considered smart? In fact, one of his Harvard professors said that "Cruz was off-the-charts brilliant".

Not one of them said yes.

That is because it is now called "climate change"... Didn't you learn anything from the Ted Cruz video?

                            • Global warming is slowing the rotation of the Earth down and now it is making it wobble... What's next?

NASA: Global Warming Is Now Changing How Earth Wobbles

Global warming is shifting the way the Earth wobbles on its polar axis, a new NASA study finds.

Melting ice sheets — especially in Greenland — are changing the distribution of weight on Earth. And that has caused both the North Pole and the wobble, which is called polar motion, to change course, according to a study published Friday in the journal Science Advances.

Scientists and navigators have been accurately measuring the true pole and polar motion since 1899 and for almost the entire 20th century they migrated a bit toward Canada. But that has changed with this century and now it's moving toward England, said study lead author Surendra Adhikari at NASA's Jet Propulsion Lab.
