https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/p...world-combinedChina now emits more than rest of developed world combined: Chart
China’s emissions of greenhouse gases have more than tripled over the last three decades and now, for the first time, exceed those of all developed countries combined, according to new research released Thursday.
China contributed 27% of global emissions in 2019, far exceeding the United States, the second-highest emitter at 11%, followed by India (6.6%), and the European Union (6.4%), the Rhodium Group found.
BIDEN SETS TARGET OF CUTTING US EMISSIONS UP TO 52% BY 2030 BUT WON'T DETAIL HOW TO GET THERE
In 2019, China’s emissions reached 14,093 million metric tons of carbon equivalent, a more than tripling of 1990 levels, and a 25% increase over the past decade.

An example of why your average non-activist person doesn't trust "mainstream media" and is skeptical about the alarmism surrounding alleged catastrophic climate change:
Today on my Google news feed I see the following headline:
I have included the screenshot in case Google or the BBC try and change the link or the article:'The 6th great extinction is happening', warns climate expert
temp.jpg
"Well, golly", I tell myself. "That's not good. I wonder who the climate expert is and why they say that?". So I click on the link which takes me to this article on the BBC website:
https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c93qvqx5y01o
Oh, wait a second, now it's no longer a climate expert making that claim but a "conservation expert".
temp2.jpg
Well, who is this climate expert who is also a conservation expert? I read on into the article and it's none other than Jane Goodall, who the article identifies as a "famous primatologist and conservationist".
Hmm, neither a primatologist or conservationist is really a climate expert, is it? And what evidence does "climate expert" Jane Goodall supply, or does the article even link to, to support the assertion that the sixth great extinction is happening? As far as I can tell, none. Zip. Nada. Zilch. With her signature shawl draped over her shoulders and silver hair pulled back from her face, Jane Goodall exudes serenity - even over our slightly blurry video call.
In a Vienna hotel room, a press team and a small group of filmmakers, who are documenting her latest speaking tour, fuss around her.
The famous primatologist and conservationist settles into a high-backed chair that dwarfs her slender frame.
So what is Jane Goodall doing in Vienna besides making alarming claims with pretty much zero evidence? Well, she's advocating for "a tree-planting and habitat restoration mission that her eponymous foundation and non-profit technology company, Ecosia, are carrying out in Uganda". Tree-planting is indeed noble but it leaves one to wonder just how much money the employees and managers and directors of both the Jane Goodall Foundation and Ecosia rake in. Just because something is "non-profit" doesn't mean that those involved aren't well compensated.
So where does Jane go after Vienna?
No doubt traveling via some magic form of transportation that doesn't utilize fossil fuels. Also no doubt those remedies involve lots of transfer of wealth from certain countries, organizations, and individuals to other countries, organizations, and individuals.“I am a little bit exhausted,” she admits. “I’ve come here from Paris. And after here I go to Berlin, then Geneva. I’m on this tour talking about the danger to the environment and some of the remedies,” she says.
I think the climate change alarmists shoot themselves in the foot with this kind of journalism. Also, the whole "activist industry" causes grift alarm bells to go off in my head.

I am not a climate alarmist, and I have only seen gorillas in the movies or at a zoo, but it was 62f today and the historical average is 40f. The grift is real but the earth is warming. I'd like to complain, but it sure was a beautiful day.

Back in the day I worked at a company with a bunch of retired military guys. Every time it snowed the first thing I'd hear when I got to the office was something about driving through or having to shovel some of "Al Gore's Global Warming." We'd all have a good laugh.Originally posted by tooblue View Post

Is this the climate change thread? I don’t remember if there is another one.
Anyway, per this article, if you care about the planet, don’t get a dog:
