So the big crime of this “socialist, communist, Marxist-Leninist” organization was to call for “observers urgently requested”?Originally posted by dabrockster View PostInvestigative journalist Asra Q. Sheds light on the coordinated efforts of the agitators who cloak themselves as protestors.

You keep saying what these protestors/observers/agitators are doing is illegal. I would love to better understand in specific terms what laws the agitators broke as Pretti was being executed? Standing on a public sidewalk. Filming. Giving aid to someone brutalized by ICE. Which laws was he breaking?

Yes, Trump can declare victory, get the feds out, blame some scapegoats, and pivot to put focus back on investigating the fraud.Originally posted by BigPiney View Post
Bovino and Noem are terrible. Not that getting rid of them will fundamentally change things, but it does fine the admin an opportunity to pivot.
I do wonder if we'll see any more of these "lets flood the zone with ICE and CBP thugs on the street" deployments. Certainly not any until after November.Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

To be fair, you did claim that social media has rotted my brain:Originally posted by frank ryan View Post
Jeff, I can do without the personal dig man. You knew that was going to draw a reaction and it did from not only me.
But don't worry. I laughed!Originally posted by frank ryan View PostI don't believe you did. A troll attempt or really bad gotchya. Social media rots people's brains.
OK. If someone intentionally drives their car in front of ICE vehicles to impede them, what would you call that? Or if a crowd of people blocks them from entering a building or going down a street?Originally posted by frank ryan View PostMy problem with the comparison is I don't think J6 was an act of civil disobedience it was an insurrection."There is no creature more arrogant than a self-righteous libertarian on the web, am I right? I initially read it as tongue in cheek, and thought the pushback was overwrought. If it was just a straight comparison, meh, I'm not worked up about it.Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View Post
That depends. How did you interpret it?"...you pointy-headed autopsy nerd. Do you think it's possible for you to post without using words like "hilarious," "absurd," "canard," and "truther"? Your bare assertions do not make it so. Maybe your reasoning is too stunted and your vocabulary is too limited to go without these epithets."

Yes, you read it correctly. Just having fun with all the enthusiasm here over "civil disobedience". I wish all the J6 folks were in jail.Originally posted by Northwestcoug View Post

I haven't felt this relieved since Kalani said he was staying.

This thing is getting worse for the Trump team. The praises for Alex Pretti are many and will likely hit peak this week.
He sounds like a sincerely awesome person.

He was a very decent, kind human. MAGA-types, including the execrable Kash Patel this morning, who keep mentioning he was carrying a loaded pistol (with an extra clip!) and think he was at least partly blameworthy, even though he never brandished it and was being brutalized before the gun was discovered. And there's no sense of contradiction or irony among those who think gun control laws need to be minimized or eliminated so that we citizens can protect ourselves from government abuse and overreach, but that Pretti should not have had a gun while he was being abused by an overwrought government agent.Originally posted by myboynoah View PostThis thing is getting worse for the Trump team. I would agree that he seems like a decent guy. However, decent people with CCWs sometimes do really dumb things.
Anyway, it's been interesting to watch friends on both sides jump to immediate conclusions, comfortably portray themselves as experts on the use of force, and let nuance fall by the wayside. There's plenty of that in this thread.
I ran across this article. It's a long read, but worth it. With a caveat or two, it reflects my view that there is plenty of blame to be heaped on both sides.
https://www.wisconsinrightnow.com/al...jxrvdu3_lT-wbAIt’s an ugly, messy shooting. Anyone pretending that this is a clean, clear-cut, and obviously justified shooting – including the Trump administration – is being extremely disingenuous, if not outright spinning you. The people on the other side, who claim this is a clear-cut execution, implying ill intent, are also being very disingenuous, if not outright spinning you. This one falls somewhere in the middle, and the answer likely lies within the fog of war and inside a scrum that we can’t all completely see.
