If he's qualified then bring it on. Either the penal system has both justice and rehabilitation goals or it doesn't. Do you think it's possible for you to post without using words like "hilarious," "absurd," "canard," and "truther"? Your bare assertions do not make it so. One appointment at a time. Are you willing to concede that the multiple paragraph hit piece was pretty unwarranted for one of 400 New Yorkers on committees? If you look at his reasoning for the appointment, it makes a lot of sense:Originally posted by dabrockster View Post
Wait. Soo. Stanley Richard who was also incarcerated was named as the new commissioner. GASP!!

We put together a team of more than 400 New Yorkers who are on 17 different committees, and these are New Yorkers who bring with them both a fluency of the policies and politics of the city, the places that they've succeeded, the places that they've failed, and we will take all of their experiences and their analysis into account as we build a city for each and every person.

This country is being run into the ground by a pervy, geriatric ex-reality TV and various hateful and otherwise unqualified cabinet members. Conservatives need something to get worked up about and awfulize over.Originally posted by LVAllen View Post

It's good to see teh social justice warriors are getting paid positions in NYC. All that social justice warrioring is paying off."Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

Governing is hard.Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!
For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.
Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

Few people know how hard it is to run a complicated and complex corporate structure. It’s even harder as a politician. Mamdhani and his inexperienced crew are in for a rude awakening.Originally posted by myboynoah View PostGoverning is hard."Discipleship is not a spectator sport. Which was to be expected for even the most seasoned executives. That's why all the angst for "communism" in New York City was overwrought. Mamdani is going to be in over his head just making sure the streets get cleared and the garbage gets picked up.Originally posted by Moliere View Post

It reminds me of Obama. The GOP stirred up fears of socialism and social justice overreach. Obama probably would have done more socialist things if he could have, but when he got into office he quickly moderated because he had to to keep the government running. He was not very good as an administrator, which is likely due to his inexperience in administrating anything. Biden was the same. It’s partly the reason that governors tend to make better presidents because they know how to govern.Originally posted by myboynoah View Post

And now, we got Trump Part Deux which is a Corporate leader butchering and blowing things up as if it is a corporate business. Essentially, we have had 24 years of shit. going back to Obama and now..Originally posted by Moliere View Post

Trumps biggest administering problem is that he’s not used to a division of powers. As a CEO of a private company with no real Board he can basically do whatever he wants. In government, he needs to compromise and work with others, which he obviously sucks at doing.Originally posted by dabrockster View Post

I think that's his second-biggest problem. The biggest is that he's legitimately dumb about almost everything.Originally posted by Moliere View Post

There's three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who's got the same first name as a city; and never go near a lady's got a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, everything else is cream cheese. --Coach Finstock
