Republicans, for as extreme as they've gone over the past 8 years, are not willing to turn against Mickey Mouse and forego Disneyworld over political posturing, even if DeSantis was supposed to be the Annointed One. They'll quickly annoint someone else, thank you, and they'll also spring for the Park Hopper. What a dumb battle for the governor of Florida to pick...

Yeah, there is going to be little wiggle room for Desantis to get out of this. He has to find a strategy to save face or he has no chance of surviving an attack from Trump. It is clear at this point that he isn't going to be the anointed one to replace Trump. The two from SC don't give me much hope to stand up to Trump. Tim Scott hasn't really started anything yet putside of announcing an exploratory committee.

Two things: 1. That's not how eminent domain works; 2. Trumpers do not like DeSantis and would probably prefer to continue taking their kids to Disneyworld.

You’re missing the larger point. Ted is propping up DeSantis as much as he can. He wants these little moral victories so DeSantis has a little bit of hope of winning the nomination. He’s going to vote GOP anyways; he’d rather not have to explain his vote for Trump.
