I saw on the news this morning that 70% of Americans don’t want Biden to run. But he still has a higher approval rating than Donald Trump. What a great election cycle this is going to be.

I still don't see Biden being able to handle a full campaign outside of his basement. It appears his strategy is to double down on the threat to Democracy and attack MAGA. A winning strategy if Trump gets the nomination no doubt. But if Trumpndoes get sidelined and Biden has to defend his administration's record on the economy and crime, combined with his obvious cognitive decline... it'll be ugly.

Yeah, I think a republican candidate not named Trump would have a real shot. Not to mention the fact that Kamala Harris would the VP and Biden has one foot in the grave and the other on a banana peel. Nobody, not even democrats, feel good about Harris in the White House.

DeSantis looks dead in the water, and legitimately the only threat that easily beats Biden (Trumps a coin flip) let’s announce a presidential run when he is getting battered and give people a reason to turn back to the young guy!

I really had hoped that Biden would wait til the fall and have a ‘medical event’ that wouldn’t allow him to run and allowed him to open up the primary to whoever. Now he can’t ditch Kamala, and now if somehow he wins re-election we are going to have coronation Kamala 2028. Ugh.

To be fair to all candidates not named Trump, there hasn't really been a serious effort at campaigning. Look back at past polling from the year before a presidential election. They are rarely accurate. Once money starts pouring in, campaigning for actual primaries starts, and normies start paying attention, the landscape can shift quickly.

My original post wasn't just about the GOP, Biden is the obvious front runner but if someone serious jumps in it could change things on the Dem side.

Youngkin has already said he isn't running rhis year. But maybe if Trump or Desantis wears themselves put he will jump in. But I still think it's too early to count Desantis out yet. He hasnt even announced and things can change quickly.
