    The Trump Grift Machine is putting out some compelling products lately. This one might be the best yet. The TRUMPINATOR Teddy Bear. An unholy combination of a teddy bear, the Terminator, and Donald J. Trump. This is a product I can actually get behind. For the low price of $20.24, you can have one of these Frankenbears for the home. Or better yet, buy one for the home, one for the RV, and one to keep in plastic as an investment. If you were worried that by purchasing more than one, you might be cheating Trump out of extra income via a bulk discount, do not worry, there is no financial break for buying in bulk.

            Public Service Announcement: I just changed the name of this thread to remove the "Primary" part. The primaries are effectively over and this has become our defacto election thread so why not?

            In other news, it looks like almost all of the polls show movement in Biden's direction lately. That is good. I heard and interesting theory this morning that people are starting to get over the grief and anger phases over having an election featuring Biden and Trump again and now that they are moving into the acceptance phase, Biden's downsides seem more palatable than trump's for many independents. Hence the movement.

              So RJK Jr is entertaining the idea of being the libertarian nomination...

              Robert F. Kennedy Jr. flirts with the Libertarian nomination

              If he does that and gets on all the ballots then Grandpa Joe may be burnt toast...

                First off, the LP has stooped to such levels of dysfunction for this to be an option. He's not a free speech guy. He called for imprisonment of all the heads of energy companies, and he is pro governemnt intervention in a variety of ways. Also, I'm pretty sure the LP won't make it on all 50 state ballots.

                    By June he will be ahead in Michigan, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania-if he wins those 3 he will be re-elected.

                      Another facet of moving through the "OK, it's going to be these two guys again" stage is that the full focus is on Trump and his dialed up craziness/uncouthness/bigotry/dishonesty/misogyny/incompetence as well as his own verbal and physical foibles that show his age. I'm sure Biden people just wanted to get it to a two-person race so voters can make a clear comparison.

                          I really wonder where this leads us in 5-10 years. I was listening to a pod years ago and the podcaster made the observation that his child had only lived during a time where a black man was president. I was thinking about that last night but from the angle that there’s a generation of kids that for 10-15 years will only know the GOP as the Trump party and think that that was normal.

                          If he wins it’ll be horrible for the country. If he loses half the country won’t believe that he actually lost.

                            My only consolation is that they are all extremely unlikable losers who have utterly failed to get any traction at all. The GOP is going to just hemorrhage members after this election and a replacement conservative party started, or there is going to be a revolt in which there is a massive Trump purge from the party. This does not end well for Trump or people who run like this in a democratic society.

                              I really don't see how MAGA survives Trump, and I don't see how Trump survives another 20 years on this earth. I think the majority of the MAGA republicans in the house and senate are opportunists who jumped on board the Trump train when it became clear Trump was unstoppable. Remember how it seemed like the GOP was finally turning on him after Jan. 6? I think they believed he was a sinking ship and they were getting ready to jump, only to have that shrieking eel (where's LAU when you need for a Princess Bride reference?) wriggle out of trouble again. But no one can do MAGA like Trump - lots have tried and none have gotten anywhere. DeSantis got as close as anyone to looking like the heir and he flamed out hilariously.

                                Why do you say that? That politico article above just said the LP consistently makes it on the ballot in all 50 states.
