LOL, you called me an asshole for pointing out that most Americans had never been better financially a few weeks back.
Swish!
Can you point me to the post where i called you an asshole?
"Mood improving" does not mean that Americans have never been better financially. You speak in absolutes so much I shouldn't be surprised you think in absolutes as well. People are feeling inflation still and it's still a vulnerability for Biden. If this is an accurate account of the mood in the country, it helps Biden.

Even adjusted for inflation Americans have never been richer. That’s a fact, it’s not a feeling.

It’s not my fault USUC ‘feels’ like things are tough out in these streets. I find it hilarious, considering his political proclivities, he’s so concerned about interest rates for new home buyers and the price of eggs. It furthers my opinion that dudes like him, and probs a majority of the folks here, are searching for reasons to justify their impending vote for Trump.

You are missing the more important point about the tweet, which is that despite the FACTS that the economy is doing well, people tend to vote on how they FEEL the economy is doing. No amount of condescending observations that "you're actually richer than you've ever been" is going to convince people of anything.
Keep talking in facts, its important, but it does not mean that feels are irrelevant. They may be more relevant to presidential politics than almost anything.
Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

IIRC, that's why George Bush lost in 1992. The economy had recovered from the recession, but voters hasn't caught up to the facts yet.

Not to take sides in the latest food fight here, but the mood is improving according to the data just presented. So it's interesting to see if that continues because as USUC pointed out, it's bad for Trump's chances if it does.

Like we know you are just trolling, but you literally are talking to the wrong crowd. A minority of active posters here are even going to contemplate voting for him, let alone pulling the lever.
You still get bites with your trolling, but at some point everyone is going to ignore you.

Exactly. I know you sometimes listen to the Daily podcast by the NYT, so you are probably familiar with this, but there was a very interesting podcast a few weeks ago about this topic. There is hard data to show that people right now are far more pessimistic about the economy than is warranted by the actual economic facts. Wages have gone up more than enough to compensate for inflation, but people are still shell-shocked by that period of rapid inflation and by the fact that mortgage rates are higher. Also, there is an entire sub-culture among younger generations on social media (tik tok especially) where people whine and complain about how much harder they have it than older generations and how they will never be able to get ahead. Almost all of this is based on false assumptions and basic economic ignorance, but it has a significant impact. And that pessimism is felt most strongly among demographics that would trend heavily towards liberal candidates, which is problematic for Biden.

The discussion went like this a month or so ago IIRC:
Moliere posted some snarky, nutso comment about how his economical situation post Trump is so much better!
Shaka, USUC, jumped in with the, inflation is crushing me and so many of my friends and family.
I posted, it’s wild to me that people on this board are talking about how shit the economy is considering people, en masse, have never been richer, and by richer. I also conceded that I accept that in every economic cycle people lose, I hate when anyone loses financially, I would never wish financial hardship on anyone, but there are always winners and losers. Right now way more winners.
