We just more guns in the hands of citizens in public!

Gang members will always have access to guns even if they are a convict (and most of them are). It is likely this guy wasn't to be able to get a gun under the current gun laws. ("Current gun regulations again for the win! So let's add more.") FYI, this guy looks like he is a member of the Dallas Tango Blast gang. So if the gangs still have guns what good is it going to do to take away guns from the hands of citizens? To give the gang members the idea that they are easier targets?

Great comparison there! We shouldn’t try to reduce the number of nuclear weapons in the world, if everyone has nukes the world would be a much safer place. Nuclear proliferation for the win!

According to news reports, there was an officer at the mall when the shooting began who ran towards the sound and killed the shooter. But not until after 8 people were killed.

Ho hum another day another massacre by gunfire. This thread getting bumped more than the 'Last movie I've seen' thread. We're just waiting out our gun fetishist neighbors' tolerance for bloodshed, I guess, which seems to be wildly higher than anybody thought.

Every time there is a mass shooting the Dems knee jerk reaction is to put for a ban on AR-15s and other scary so called assault weapons rather than address the root causes. They are either playing politics or just too stupid to even consider the facts. The former ban on assault weapons did nothing and the current supreme court is bound to rule that it violates the 2nd amendment. Talk about ridiculous.

In addition, there is no thought from the left on the collateral damage their open border policies. It like the left doesn't give a f*ck about people dying from all these drugs spilling over our borders. And they don't care about sex trafficking of all these young girls. The left is truly heartless to let this happen under their watch.

In one of the most gun friendly states where the governor is encouraging widespread gun ownership, most sensible citizens do not want to carry. I thought this was the very reason why responsible gun ownership was promoted. Maybe we just need more guns.

That's not what Ted meant. He was putting out there that it was probably an inner city gang member with a long criminal history who got his weapons illegally. That doesn't appear to be the case. He was a security guard who couldn't have had a criminal history to have been able to have that job in Texas.

It's been a while since my work dealt with gangs, but you will find inner city gangs affiliated with that segment, even if it's not the most common or quintessential of gangs. I imagine with the rise of MAGA and culture wars it will only get worse.
