Hey, what about adding a weight loss/lack of weight gain column? This is going to be a bigger challenge than keeping active for me. Also, it gives the non-runners, at least the ones with some pounds to lose, an alternative.
Maybe add a column for pounds lost, and then you get 10 miles for each pound lost (and lose 10 for pounds gained)? At least the Big Ten went after a big-time addition in Nebraska; the Pac-10 wanted a game so badly, it added Utah

Hey now, my goal is actually to gain some weight during this time. I doubt I will be able to do so, but I have started lifting again, so I am trying.Originally posted by ERCougar View PostHey, what about adding a weight loss/lack of weight gain column? I like this. I would be competing with niku without running a step the last few months.Originally posted by ERCougar View PostHey, what about adding a weight loss/lack of weight gain column? How many miles would you guess you've put in since mid August? I'm curious how I would stack up in the weight loss.Originally posted by nikuman View PostTotally onboard with this idea.A man who views the world the same at fifty as he did at twenty has wasted thirty years of his life. - Mohammad Ali

I can look it up. Probably something like 600.Originally posted by CJF View PostHow many miles would you guess you've put in since mid August? I'm curious how I would stack up in the weight loss.
Edit: I misread the mid August part. Actual number is 476, but I haven't run all week this week and took two weeks off in October. I'm forecasting 360 from now to the end of the year.Last edited by Pheidippides; 11-17-2012, 08:36 AM.Awesomeness now has a name. Let me introduce myself.

If every pound equals 10 miles I'd win and that hardly seems fair. I've lost over 70 pounds since August 13th. Maybe make it 5 pounds so that you have to put in a little more physical work in.Originally posted by nikuman View PostI can look it up. Probably something like 600.

Ah. Ok. As hard as I will try, don't think I can lose 46 pounds the rest of the year. I'm hoping for 30-35.Originally posted by nikuman View PostAh, but I, planning on losing 10 pounds too.A man who views the world the same at fifty as he did at twenty has wasted thirty years of his life. - Mohammad Ali

I'm not a fan of tracking weight loss as I like to keep it simple. Unless there is a big push for I'll leave it off the spreadsheet."Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf
