A tip of the cap to OhioBlue who, except for Sundays, is running every single day and averaging 7 miles with each run. Just looking at his numbers makes me reach for the Ben-Gay.

I graciously acknowledge your hat-tip. I am fortunate that I was already doing that mileage as this got organized. As much as my competitive side wants to add in even more miles to keep up with Happyone (forget Niku, he's a cyborg), I'm not willing to risk injury. I'll keep doing my part to get us across the country!Originally posted by PaloAltoCougar View PostA tip of the cap to OhioBlue who, except for Sundays, is running every single day and averaging 7 miles with each run. Truly he deserves a hat tip. It's really a race for second place unless Niku breaks a leg or something....OB and HO I do take bribesOriginally posted by PaloAltoCougar View PostA tip of the cap to OhioBlue who, except for Sundays, is running every single day and averaging 7 miles with each run. I think we're going to need some help to get to the Big Apple before the ball drops on Times Square. I'm sure there are a few Cuffers who get out and run or walk occasionally but didn't sign up, and don't wish to do so now for whatever reason. I think we should add a Twelfth Man/Everyman/Jedermann contestant where anyone not already signed up could post their mileage anonymously (but honestly, please). Those infrequent and perhaps modest contributions could make the difference.

I am not doing my part, I slept through my alarm this morning. It will not happen tomorrow. My 4 miles have to get us somewhere special.Originally posted by PaloAltoCougar View PostI think we're going to need some help to get to the Big Apple before the ball drops on Times Square. I'm enjoying this thread and the competition a lot. Thanks for organizing and inspiring Mol. It's also impressive to see the mileage people put up and it's good to hear that even the formidable niku is pushing himself to get the mileage he does. I just had my first 20+ week in my brief running history (well, maybe in the week of my half last year) and adding the extra miles has been challenging, but I love the sense of accomplishment and the added reason for chocolate milk.I have nothing else to say at this time.

I've put in a "anonymous" line for anyone that wants to post mileage without linking your name up to it. I was going to name it "Twelfth Man" but I don't quite have the fees to pay aTm (or is it the Seahawks) for use of that moniker.Originally posted by PaloAltoCougar View PostI think we're going to need some help to get to the Big Apple before the ball drops on Times Square. I've also got two more "open" lines for people that are feeling the urge to sign up and post miles. I know there are some out there. Come on, take the plunge!!"Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We aren't even to Laramie yet. The trek across Wyoming has been brutal.

I started walking at lunch with a couple of people from work. That accounts for the extra two miles.
I may be small, but I'm slow.

If only you knew how much repair the cyborg needs. I really need every rest day I take - and every time I finish a new week I'm not sure how I'm going to start the next one.Originally posted by OhioBlue View PostI graciously acknowledge your hat-tip. Speaking of which, due to travel and other issues I am doing a double today (yesterday night's run is this morning, and then I'll run again tonight). For purposes of the chart I'm going to list this morning's run as yesterdays, and then tonight's run as today's. I hope nobody minds, but I mention it to relinquish any claim I had on most consistent (I think OB and HO have me beat there anyway).
This week is my peak week. 71 miles. I have a 70 in a couple weeks as well. If I survive this week, that is.Awesomeness now has a name. Let me introduce myself.

4.8 miles on the hamster wheel this morning. I could have easily slept in or cut it off earlier than I did. But my brother in law lives in Cheyenne and I am hoping to make it there before the weekend. They do pizza and a movie every Friday night. I'm sure he and his kids won't mind an extra 14 sweaty, stinky runners crashing on his living room floor for the evening.
