No they aren't. I would have bought yours. You were offering a heck of a deal.

They are the new Rocketbalz irons. Regular, graphite shaft. I am getting more and more comfortable swinging smooth and trusting they go as far as they do. I just hit one less club than I did before.

There is a bit of a gap though between the 9 iron and the wedge. The wedge goes about the same distance as my previous wedge.

A whole club this early in the year is pretty big. (Unless you're playing in 80* in S Utah.)

I've heard nothing but good things about the rocketbalz equipment. Maybe a new driver this year....

      • I hit the Rocketballz hybrids at the end of last year and was blown away. I am going to demo the driver in the next week or so. They are amazing and add a ton of distance.

        • I've debated getting the new RBZs. I (occasionally) love the driver, but wish the irons didn't have the green on them. I don't care of the look. However, if anyone is seriously considering getting a set, Amazon has a great deal on them right now.

Are they the new Rocketballz or the Rocketbladez? I was thinking they were the latter.

            • I hate the name rocketballz. But I guess you have to name it something. Should have been Big Horn Ballz.

                • 85 at Aliante yesterday. 86 at Bountiful Ridge today. I've closed my stance a bit to help fight my natural fade, and it has helped my ball striking immensely. I'm making great contact and getting a very nice, piercing ball flight with a lot of backspin. Unfortunately, my alignment and direction has suffered. I think i may have hit 10 GIR total in those two rounds. Lots of missed greens = lots of bogeys. Hopefully a session or two at the range will help me work things out. On that note, I had 9 straight bogeys at one point during my round today before finishing with a birdie on 18.

Bountiful Ridge is still my absolute favorite course in Davis County. The greens were so plush today. Also, it's nice to get an extra 7-10 yards on every club with the Utah altitude. I always forget about that.

                      48+40=88

Shot of the day. An 8 iron from 145 to 8 feet, over a lake to an elevated green. Sunk the putt for a birdie. (2 birdies on the day)

It was bad. My back has been a little crooked this Spring, and I hadn't even hit a golf ball until yesterday. No range, no nothing for the last 5 months. I hit a warm up bucket, but didn't even practice my putting. On the first tee, I smoked one down the middle and as I put my driver away, I noticed that I didn't have my belly putter in the bag. Yes, I brought it inside over the winter to hit putts with, and to scratch my back, but I'd forgotten it. Since I was walking, Bob behind us carted me up to the pro shop where Carl gave me the putter out of a junior rental set. It was a nice enough putter, but it was short, and I have a bad back. I three putted from 20 feet on the first hole for a bogey, and I think the putter cost me about 5 shots on the day, as I three putted 6 times. On the 6th hole my back started aching, and by the 9th hole I was in full spasm where I topped the ball - barely hit it at all - and after going out of bounds on my 3rd shot, I ended up with a Frosty for a 48 on the front.

One of the hazards of mens club is the personality differences in the 150 or so member of the club. 90% of the guys are great, and fun to play with, and then there are so odd ball dudes that seem to struggle with anger management, and slow motion disease. One of the group yesterday suffered from both problems. He'd take twice as long as the rest of us together to hit his shot. He had a routine to be sure, as he would approach the ball, take a couple of swings, back off 5 paces behind the ball and envision his shot in the air, approach the ball again take two more swings and proceed to hit the shot exactly opposite than what he had just envisioned. When he didn't execute the shot, he would then yell at himself. On the 6th hole, a long par 5, he got on in three with a great shot from 160. He then 4 putted from 15 feet, exhibiting no tactile feel for speed in the least. As he pulled the ball from the cup, he reported his score to Rich, the score keeper as a 6. The score keeper knowing it was a 7, (3 on 4 putts) asked him if he was sure, and he yelled at poor Rich, "I think I know my own Score." Rich put him down as a 7 anyway, but the dude wasn't going to win miss congeniality, that or any other day.

What made the day bad was I walked the front 9, and got sun stroke. I got pretty tired, and my back was killing me so I got a cart for the back 9. It took me about three holes on the back to even start feeling normal again. By the 15th hole I was spent. No energy at all. My Ping G20's I bought back in September were nice. I hit several good shots, and the ball was able to hold its line with good verticle spin. The shot of the day actually stopped and spun back about a foot. I'm glad I bought them.

                      • I took Jr and Cap out last night and hit balls. We then played the first hole because we were practically by ourselves, I hammered easily the best drive I've hit in 18 months. We chased their balls around for a bit and finally got to mine, I was inside the 100 marker. Swung an easy U wedge to the front the ball rolled to about 8 inches. Yeah, I play one hole and have a tap in bird, I need to figure out how to take my boys with me all the time. It might be a 10 hour round though.

Earlier you asked why you golf. When 5/5 out of us here agree that the best thing in the world is golfing with your sons, you know it's a slam dunk. Keep up the good work.

                          • Still love the clubs. On number 8 yesterday I had 167 to the pin from the rough. Nice little 7 iron draw, land soft and rolls into the cup. Shoot a 37 on the front. Came back to earth on the back with a 45. However, without the two triple bogeys on the back, I would have been in the 70's.

Out of curiosity, did you get the Rocketbladez or the Rocketbladez Tour?
