I wouldn't say I find it shocking, just interesting. I had never really considered how the 1st Presidency/Qot12 got their information, although the briefings make perfect sense once you think about it. I would be happy to come on your podcast and discuss it further."Sure, I fought. I had to fight all my life just to survive. They were all against me. Tried every dirty trick to cut me down, but I beat the bastards and left them in the ditch."

Sure, it's biased based on personal experience. Soooo not true! They're very aware of my CS loyalties, although they relate to my board activities the way one does with an eccentric uncle who spends countless hours in the basement with an elaborate train set, fascination for about three minutes, then on to other things. A month ago, one of them sent me an advance copy of his talk and asked for comments/edits. I tried to work in some aphorism from the board or a suggestion that the Church re-do McConkie's BoM chapter headnotes, using clever titles like our game threads with the related repartee, but as always my helpful insights fell on deaf ears.Originally posted by YOhio View PostLet's just say this. Repartee over chapter headnotes? No way they would allow so much hilarious ribbing!Originally posted by PaloAltoCougar View PostSoooo not true! With takes like that, your podcasts are going to be pretty boring. You are going to need to liven it up with some controversy. sjbh.Originally posted by Moliere View PostCertainly I can't be the only Mormon that finds these videos not at all shocking, right? They would be shocking if we didn't already know that Oaks is preoccupied with the gays and that old people that spend 95% of their awake time dealing with church administrative matters might be a bit out of touch with world events. It makes send that they'd be briefed on stuff.
Even when I was a TBM I didn't think that Christ himself told GBH about raves. I figured he heard it from his grandkids and decided he should speak about such parties.
That being said, I haven't watched the videos. I go to enough church meetings every week that I don't want to have endure anymore monotonous doldrumming than I already have to.

Deaf ears huh? I guess they are really old people but you'd think they could at least afford hearing aids. Maybe they can trade in the Avalon for an Accord.Originally posted by PaloAltoCougar View PostSoooo not true! It's a slippery slope. You'll probably catch apostasy, and end up doing your own podcast as well.Originally posted by San Juan Sun View PostI wouldn't say I find it shocking, just interesting. This could be a "pull back the curtain moment" but I doubt it will have any effect. My old HP group leader believed that Christ and TSM had regular face to face meetings, he won't ever see this so it won't sway him. The ones who are already gone are the ones who will watch it and just feel a little better about the direction they chose. The church better be careful and maybe even more transparent because everything could come out. If the financials ever came out that could freak a few people.

More and more will come out. Most of it will bore people, but I suppose some who believed angels and Divinity were meeting with the leadership regularly will be disappointed.Originally posted by RC Vikings View PostThis could be a "pull back the curtain moment" but I doubt it will have any effect. What else are a bunch of businessmen supposed to do? Some of them reflect badly on Oaks, who seems to have a pet peeve against gay people."Guitar groups are on their way out, Mr Epstein."

Of course normal film would not catch an angel anyway.Originally posted by LiveCoug View PostYou guys are silly. There are plenty of boring meetings that take place, but do you guys believe the are filming the face to face meetings with angels and Divinity? Come on, those won't be filmed.
