Only 17 more years of my support and UD will be back!"They're good. They've always been good" - David Shaw.
Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.

Again who believes this stuff? Literal Adam and Eve? Is there a more preposterous belief in the church than a literal Adam and Eve?Originally posted by jay santos View PostHolland is puzzling. Seemingly from nowhere and for no reason, he doubles down on Garden of Eden literalism. High risk, low reward. Loved the story he opened with, though. He's a guy I usually love when he's not grinding on ProgMo's.
I predict JL is grinding his teeth as he realizes this isn't his home anymore.

I thought his talk was very good as well. Adam and Eve literalism didn't even register with me.Originally posted by LiveCoug View PostI dig Holland's talk. He is very good.Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

Another tie from his collegiate collection. looks like he's doing the Ivy League right now. I wonder when he'll do the Pac-12.Originally posted by HuskyFreeNorthwest View PostHis tie looked like the Harvard tie from trading places, it made me wonder if he was trolling SoonerCoug.Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. His was very good.Originally posted by cowboy View PostI thought Hollands talk was fine, but Brent Neilson is my favorite so far."Discipleship is not a spectator sport. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

Yes, Holland's talk was just fine if you didn't really listen.Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View PostI didn't even hear that part. I was checking my meat on the smoker.

Uchtdorf 7.5. He's capable of better. At least the Big Ten went after a big-time addition in Nebraska; the Pac-10 wanted a game so badly, it added Utah

Jordan didn't score 55 every time he played at MSG. Ucht brought the highlight reel last night at PHood, today was a Tuesday night against the Bucks.Originally posted by ERCougar View PostYes, Holland's talk was just fine if you didn't really listen.

I don't see the problem with Holland's talk. Are you guys really surprised that older church leaders have a more literal belief in the Fall? His statement even left room for the scientific explanation of how man evolved. His larger point wasn't new, because of the fall we need an atonement. I'm not sure what you guys were expecting.

Not surprised. Well, maybe a little, because i have a higher hope for leaders than to ignore basic established science, but i guess I'm a little cynical at this point, so no.Originally posted by SCcoug View PostI don't see the problem with Holland's talk. And I realize he sprinkled in a few nice messages, but he gets a huge dock in points for adding in what the church needs least at this point in its existence--more literalism/fundamentalism.At least the Big Ten went after a big-time addition in Nebraska; the Pac-10 wanted a game so badly, it added Utah
