Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.

    • I thought Hollands talk was fine, but Brent Neilson is my favorite so far.

Again who believes this stuff? Literal Adam and Eve? Is there a more preposterous belief in the church than a literal Adam and Eve?

I predict JL is grinding his teeth as he realizes this isn't his home anymore.

          • Brent Nielson was my Stake President. Good speaker and gave great 5th Sunday lessons, had minimum contact with him though.

I thought his talk was very good as well. Adam and Eve literalism didn't even register with me.
Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

Another tie from his collegiate collection. looks like he's doing the Ivy League right now. I wonder when he'll do the Pac-12.

I didn't even hear that part. I was checking my meat on the smoker.

Yes, Holland's talk was just fine if you didn't really listen.

Uchtdorf 7.5. He's capable of better.

Jordan didn't score 55 every time he played at MSG. Ucht brought the highlight reel last night at PHood, today was a Tuesday night against the Bucks.

                          • I don't see the problem with Holland's talk. Are you guys really surprised that older church leaders have a more literal belief in the Fall? His statement even left room for the scientific explanation of how man evolved. His larger point wasn't new, because of the fall we need an atonement. I'm not sure what you guys were expecting.

                            • Based on what I'm reading in this thread, sounds like a lot of new information over the past day or so.

Not surprised. Well, maybe a little, because i have a higher hope for leaders than to ignore basic established science, but i guess I'm a little cynical at this point, so no.
And I realize he sprinkled in a few nice messages, but he gets a huge dock in points for adding in what the church needs least at this point in its existence--more literalism/fundamentalism.
