I'm honestly going into this with one question: why? Why did somebody think this movie is a good idea? Why would I feel different about Mormons after seeing this movie? Why would a person want to know more about the Mormons after it? And why do people think that any nonmormons will show up?
I will return and report.Awesomeness now has a name. Let me introduce myself.

I'm not sure that could be less honest, quite frankly.Originally posted by Pheidippides View Post

I will return and report.Prepare to put mustard on those words, for you will soon be consuming them, along with this slice of humble pie that comes direct from the oven of shame set at gas mark “egg on your face”! -- Moss

Carey scheduled Rockland for their homecoming weekend. I headed on up that way as we have a pretty decent club this year. As expected we still got bitchslapped by Lane's boys. The first announcement was the score from the BYU-UH game the night before. Scottie's roots in Cougar blue go as deep as most Idahoans desire to headbutt 90% of the folks in Blaine County, but in Carey no headbutts needed!Originally posted by scottie View Post

If you are patient, it will be on BYUtv. Take advantage of it. It is what we gave up going to the BIG12 for.Originally posted by smokymountainrain View PostI can't imagine taking 2 hours out of my day to watch Meet the Mormons. But then I can't imagine taking 2 hours out of my day to watch most movies. It will be interesting to see if, a few months from now, the church considers this a success.
Also it might be shown on KSL between conference sessions if Carole Mikita decides she doesn't need a couple of spots.
Truly kidding. I know she is a very, very nice lady.

I'm hearing absolutely unfounded speculation that the real endgame is to get this on Netflix. I'm not sure I can connect all the dots though.Originally posted by smokymountainrain View PostI can't imagine taking 2 hours out of my day to watch Meet the Mormons. Nor can I. And I am active. Blows my mind that an ex-mo would invest the time and money to see it.Originally posted by smokymountainrain View PostI can't imagine taking 2 hours out of my day to watch Meet the Mormons.
For those of you keeping track at home, my mind has been blown twice today in this thread."There is no creature more arrogant than a self-righteous libertarian on the web, am I right? Those folks are just intolerable."

LOL! Do you understand much about the word "faith?" Does the Church consider that military adventure where a charming silver tongued leader took "command" of 100 other equally clueless "SOUL-jers" on some ill advised jaunt to save LDS members assets in Missouri a success? When evaluated based upon simple cost benefit analysis, success in stated political goals or even numbers of dudes shot in the gut on the Crooked River it was an abysmal failure. How does the Church treat it? Their perspective is very, very long term and my opinion is the experience for its filmakers will be success enough.Originally posted by smokymountainrain View PostI can't imagine taking 2 hours out of my day to watch Meet the Mormons.
