Church headquarters could actually use a consultant to find the way to keep deeply disillusioned members from having an excuse to leave the church. Without those members, the church doesn't survive.

Sooner could be of great value in assuring there is a LDS Church 50 years from now.

I also would like to say here, I am glad he is back posting. Even his short absence had this stie tetering on the brink. I would hate to think what would have happened if SU had left too.

It's like the line from that Dave Mason song:

Don't get lost in all I say
Though at the time I really felt that way
but that was then and this is today
        PLesa excuse the tpyos.

It's a strange experience to change one's spiritual beliefs. In my case it was easier than I thought it would be yet I can understand the struggles others have had (NIK/Phip for example). In fact I seem to recall him mentioning it was like losing a loved one, which is why the topic lingers and the emotions are so intense and raw. An apt comparison, but I think in my case it was probably closer to losing an elderly grandparent. What that says about me probably doesn't reflect very highly on me but if I had to put it into those terms that's what it was like.

          • Church leadership does want to appeal to younger audiences. They dont seem to be receiving food guidance.
"Guitar groups are on their way out, Mr Epstein."

Upon rejecting the Beatles, Dick Rowe told Brian Epstein of the January 1, 1962 audition for Decca, which signed Brian Poole and the Tremeloes instead.

I did say that and I stand by it - but the recovery time is much faster for changing belief. I'm pretty happy now - and I'm content to let everybody else do what makes them happy too. I still care as a semi-professional matter but I haven't been angry about it in a while.
Awesomeness now has a name. Let me introduce myself.

I hear they are very provincial eating mostly in the JSMB or Lion House.
