Well, it really depends the type of burn, of course. A first degree burn would do fine with gauze. Of course, it would also do fine with spit. A full thickness burn needs a much more specialized dressing. However, full thickness burns are not usually painful because the nerve tissue is destroyed. DDD is obviously in pain so this is more of a deep partial thickness burn. That kind of burn requires a layer of bacitracin followed by a vaseline impregnated dressing. Dry gauze would rip the newly formed epithelium off every time it was changed, thus preventing it from ever really healing.
So the real question is, why doesn't DDD want to heal?At least the Big Ten went after a big-time addition in Nebraska; the Pac-10 wanted a game so badly, it added Utah

By the way I wonder how this lady felt about the honor code while she attended BYU? We probably agree.

We asked that the congregation share in the responsibility of his Christian upbringing and prayed for the day that my son would come to know the Lord as his own. As his mother, my primary role in his Christian nurture was acknowledged by my presence and participation in the ceremony, and tears slipped from my eyes as we finished. To say it was a special moment for me as a mother would be an understatement.
I have to wonder why the LDS Church is so determined to ensure that its own women can never write what I just wrote,I'm like LeBron James.

None of these other churches have much to offer, IMHO. Yes, they might have gender equality, which is not unimportant, but their sermons are just as boring, if not more so, than what we experience in the LDS Church.Originally posted by byu71 View PostProblem solved for the friends of this well spoken lady. For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.
Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

It kind of reminds me of a discussion I had with a guy here in the office a while ago. He was going off on the Utah alcohol laws and how the mormons control the state. He moved here from California many years ago.Originally posted by Topper View PostNone of these other churches have much to offer, IMHO. I asked him why they moved and stayed here. He likes the family atmoshpere. He thinks kids are less likely to get caught up in a gang culture or a drug culture. He likes the business climate. He really loves living here, but hates how much influence the LDS culture has, especially the alcohol laws.

Impossible. The could possibly be as boring but not possibly more boring.Originally posted by Topper View PostNone of these other churches have much to offer, IMHO. The church is full of unexplainable, in my mind, inconsistencies. My thought still though is you either deal with them or find a more comfortable and acceptable way for you to worship.
I just can't grasp the need some have to change church doctrine or custom to fit their need.
Ah. Doctrine.
I'm seeing the word all over the interwebs.
Most the time I am left thinking:

Very well done. By the way, I am unfamiliar with the Utah liquor laws. What makes them so onerous?Originally posted by byu71 View PostIt kind of reminds me of a discussion I had with a guy here in the office a while ago.
