There was some discussion in the Facebook thread about the legitimacy that Elder Bednar ever made such comments when someone posted a link to a talk that his wife gave on modesty while at BYU-I as evidence that there was a pretty good chance he could has made such a statement. WOW! There's some interesting quotes in that talk. I'm pretty much afraid of the Bednar's now.
"This is an issue that goes both ways. Young women, you have a responsibility not to invite unwanted thoughts into the mind of a young man by the way you dress; and, obviously, a young man has the responsibility not to dwell or act on those thoughts. Please, let us magnify the priesthood by reverencing womanhood.

I've thought of my own college-aged sons the past two weeks since school began as I've seen young woman after young woman dressed immodestly. You can't believe all the female students I've walked past who were sitting in a chair, and when I looked down I could see their bikini underpants or even worse. I think you know what I mean. I'm sorry to be so blunt. I'm just telling you what I saw. When I looked into the faces of these girls, I could tell they probably weren't even aware of what they were showing. But young women, for the sake of the priesthood holders on this campus, you cannot continue to be unaware.

These past few weeks I've been shocked by all the low-rise jeans, short tops, and navels I have seen on campus. Ladies, your pants just barely cover the private areas of your bodies. They are so revealing. You can't tell me that girls who wear this type of clothing don't know what they are showing because they can see it when they look in the mirror.

For more than a year now, I've been so disappointed by all the tight-fitting, low-cut tops I've seen. I want you young women to know that you are revealing much more than you intend to. Some of the tops you wear show every bump and every curve on your breast. They fit you like a wet swimming suit with no padding, and they are showing every bit as much."
I've only been to BYU-I once, about 15 years ago. Our sweet young women there took pains to cover up as much skin as possible, thus saving me from terrible thoughts that would likely lead to a lifetime habit of pornography. Reading this relatively recent talk, I can't believe how bad it's gotten. Posters from Rexburg, how do you keep your thoughts pure when you see so much naughty bits on campus???
"...you pointy-headed autopsy nerd. Do you think it's possible for you to post without using words like "hilarious," "absurd," "canard," and "truther"? Your bare assertions do not make it so. Maybe your reasoning is too stunted and your vocabulary is too limited to go without these epithets."
"You are an intemperate, unscientific poster who makes light of very serious matters.”

      :anger:

I guess things are getting better, at least there is recognition that the young men actually have responsibility for their own thoughts...

Don't worry about people stealing your ideas. If your ideas are any good, you'll have to ram them down people's throats.

Bednar must have been looking for it. I live two blocks from campus so I drive by it all the time and everytime I just think to myself that the church as provided a very nice place for all these geeky boys to meet all these nerdy girls.

I'm glad I wasn't in attendance as a young college student. That might have put me over the edge to want to look at porn.

I'm just glad that she apologized for using such embarrassing language like "bikini underpants."

It seems fitting that she begins her talk using three quotes from prophets that span 70 years. Clearly when each used the word immodest, they had strikingly different pieces of evidence. And there lies the crux of the whole concept. Modesty is a cultural definition and is therefore subject to its own evolution. I think that modesty is important but I wouldn't give this to a complete stranger, much less my own daughter. (Because clearly modesty only pertains to the sisters.)

When a young man walks into a movie that's inappropriate, he can get up and leave. When he sees something unsuitable on the television channel, he can change the channel or turn off the TV. But when he has to sit behind or by the side of a young woman who is dressed immodestly in a class, there isn't a whole lot he can do. And a young man on this campus shouldn't have to "hum his favorite hymn" all day to chase out thoughts that he didn't intentionally invite, especially on a campus where we have all agreed that we will obey an honor and dress code by being chaste and virtuous and adhering to the guidelines in the pamphlet For the Strength of Youth.

            • As you may know, Elder Bednar and I sometimes go tracting on Sundays. We spend a few hours knocking on doors and visiting with students in their apartments. One afternoon we caught a glimpse of a young woman in a bikini top who disappeared quickly when she saw us. Another young woman who invited us into her apartment felt so uncomfortable by the way she was dressed that eventually all the decorative pillows from the couch on which she was sitting ended up on top of her as she tried to cover up her immodest clothing.
This sounds like a call for Tobias and the Never Nudes! One never knows when your roommate is going to let in the unannounced University President.

So does the person playing the adulterer have to do the adultery scene with his/her real-life spouse? If so, does that mean the plot can't also contain a sex scene with a fictional spouse?

Both husband and wife receive their due benevolence. This is in keeping with the scriptural mandate of
I Corinthians 7:3, which says “Let the husband render unto the wife due benevolence: and likewise also the
wife unto the husband.” This means that both sex partners are shown getting equal pleasure and sexual
                          attention from one another.
No profanity. Although exclamations of pleasure are acceptable, as are the natural sounds and
vocalizations of lovemaking, Christian porn contains no profanity or swearing. The participants address
each other lovingly and respectfully at all times. Of course, it goes without saying that the actors do not take
the Lord’s name in vain, nor that of his Son
                          .
