Does anyone who has an alternative actually do this?

Have actually read that this is a problem in Japan. This has been linked to the low birth rate.

          From the article:

An Egyptian man who went online to watch a porno film for the first time got the shock of his life when he found that the woman in the film was his own wife.

          . . .

“I found 11 films showing my wife in indecent scenes with her lover….it was the first time I watched a porno film and I did this just out of curiosity,” Ramadan told Egyptian newspapers at his house in the northeastern province of Dakhalia.
          I completely believe him.

That's a rather pitiful piece of fear mongering.
Don't worry about people stealing your ideas. If your ideas are any good, you'll have to ram them down people's throats.

HAHA! When we were living in "The Valley" my wife and I saw the non-member husband of a member friend in a skinamax porno with Anna Nichole Smith. We were flipping through the channels one night and of course I paused on the sex scene that was just heating up on Cinemax. My wife screamed, "OH SHIT!" I was pleasantly surprised by her outburst because she normally tells me to change the channel, but then recognition dawned on me and I could not stop laughing. We had just had dinner with the dude in the video and his wife no less than a week earlier. During dinner he told us about the commercials he was in, but neglected to mention his film credits. We obviously kept this new information to ourselves, but he played on the ward basketball team and we were good enough friends that we saw him at least every few weeks. Oh the joys of living in the SF Valley! We always wondered if the wife knew the source of some of his royalty checks.

              • A co-worker of mine is a bishop and he dropped this ball on us at lunch (all present were Mormon attorneys). The biggest p0rn problem in his ward right now is cartoon p0rn. Apparently, it's catching a whole bunch of "tween" aged kids and they're getting hooked.

Pretty crazy stuff. Even if you have no problem with p0rn for adults, this seems like a very underhanded way to get kids involved and hooked at an early age.

Tween meaning what age exactly? I've never heard of this.

Is this more like comic book p0rn as far as the cartoon aspect? I don't see the allure of Spongebob and Sandy the squirrel. However, I was always suspicious of Superman and Wonder Woman.

Superman was flying through the air and looked down and saw Wonder Woman nude sunbathing on the beach. The temptation was too great. He flew down and in an instant, did the deed, and then flew away.

Wonder Woman, jumped up and said "What was that??"

The Invisible Man said "I don't know, but it sure hurt."

Probably more like comic/Japanese anime, I believe.

                              • Because Facebook's privacy settings are "awesome!" it notified me that a friend of mine had commented on someone-I've-never-met's post. The post was a link to New Order Mormon and an apparent dust up involving CUF's favorite apostle, DA Bednar.

I understand that Bednar spoke to a regional conference of single adults recently. In response to a question from a young lady about how to know when to get married, he gave this response (per my SP who was in attendance).

Once you have dated a young man 4 or 5 times and you think he might be the one, pull him aside and ask him this question. Do you now or have you ever viewed pornography? If he even flinches a little bit, run away. I was not in attendance at the conference, but know that it did occur (Davis County, Utah). Our SP was so moved by this advice that he called a special fireside for our youth to share the message about how evil pornography is and that parents need to be more intrusive in their interviewing their children about their specific behaviors on this topic.

I was in attendance at this fireside by the SP, so can vouch for the message, as far as he understood it.
There was some discussion in the Facebook thread about the legitimacy that Elder Bednar ever made such comments when someone posted a link to a talk that his wife gave on modesty while at BYU-I as evidence that there was a pretty good chance he could has made such a statement. WOW! There's some interesting quotes in that talk. I'm pretty much afraid of the Bednar's now.
I told him he was a goddamn Nazi Stormtrooper.
