                • In less-uplifting MoNews, Mark Lamb, Mormon Sheriff running for Congress, has a history of sexting, adultery, and pimping his wife out to his friends:

Stannard said her husband confessed to sexual affairs with Janel Lamb and others. It led to their divorce. Stannard, who was devout, wanted church leaders to punish the Lambs for violating the key tenets of faith and family, she said.

Another woman who said she was intimate with Lamb alleged he threatened to have her charged with revenge porn if she did not stop posting about their relationship. She shared screenshots of the threat exchange.

Tammy Peacock, who died in a 2021 traffic accident, also took her complaints about Lamb to the church, which ultimately assigned a high-ranking elder to investigate the claims against Lamb and his wife.

Lamb described Peacock as crazy in his 2020 political memoir, "American Sheriff: Traditional Values in a Modern World.” Peacock was addicted to drugs and alcohol. Screenshots she posted showed sexually charged messages and photos of Lamb along with plans to meet up.

Wright said she accompanied Stannard to meetings with the church elder, where she also met Peacock. She described Peacock as brave for coming forward.

"I wouldn't say I would have had any reason to doubt anything that she said," Wright said. "She seemed very personable, very sincere that she wanted to have what was going on shared and known."

It is unclear what, if any, action the church took against Lamb. A spokesperson for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints declined comment.
You will he shocked--shocked, I say--to find out that Trump is backing this guy's campaign.

                    Another article

Andrew Gould, an attorney for Lamb’s congressional campaign, sent a letter to The Republic dismissing the allegations as “baseless and harmful.”

“The campaign is aware that various false, misleading, and potentially defamatory allegations have circulated online for years,” Gould wrote. “They are repeated without verification and often to only cause great reputational and political harm.”

But that broad denial raises more questions than it answers anything.

                    What’s specifically false?

The trysts involving his wife, that he allegedly set up and then watched? The years of sexting with women? The alleged threats to use law enforcement against a woman to keep their exchanges from coming out?

If the reporting truly was “baseless,” you would expect Lamb to be loudly and publicly denying the allegations — on television, in interviews, anywhere he could.

You would expect him to say something like the photos are not his, the messages did not come from his phone or that he didn’t know about them.

Instead, Lamb has largely disappeared from public view with just two months before the July 21 GOP primary. Lamb is facing construction firm owner Daniel Keenan.

Lamb has Donald Trump’s endorsement and thus remains the favorite to win both the primary and the general election in this heavily MAGA district that includes Queen Creek, Gilbert and Apache Junction.

Lamb isn’t just counting on Trump’s endorsement. He’s clearly borrowing from Trump’s political playbook to survive scandals: ignore and wait them out.

He relates better with them than with those who respect commitments they've made.

The church then asked for another meeting and the town ignored the request. That is when the church filed suit. Also this was only after months. Texas state law is on the church's side here as there is one on the books that basically addresses this kind of dispute between local municipalities and churches seeking to build a house of worship.

Also Fairview doesn't have anything in their zoning laws that would prohibit the building of a temple that is being proposed or that was agreed to from the arbitration except for a provision that the town council still has to approve. This is exactly what current Texas state law prohibits local areas from doing.
Fairview mayor announces campaign on Fairview Texas Temple height

Fairview, out of all other options, is now launching a PR campaign to get the church to change the height of the temple steeple. This isn't just the people of Fairview starting the campaign, it's quite literally the city, which is using city funds, that is doing the campaign. The city knows it lost and has now decided to burn every ounce of goodwill on the way out the door. Absolutely amazing but not unpredictable given the type of people that live in Fairview.
