  • This was circulating in the local legal circles, but somehow didn't make it into the local papers. KSL reported on it before anyone in Las Vegas did:

"Utah attorney performs life-saving CPR mid-hearing, credits time in Boy Scouts"

Bankruptcy trial, and David Winterton was cross examining. David used to be in my stake presidency several moves ago, and he's currently the patriarch of his stake. For a number of years, his office was near mine, and we'd run into each other at In-n-Out. Good dude. He had a heart attack, and opposing counsel promptly started CPR. He was able to be revived after about 15 minutes once the automatic defibrillator arrived.

    • Patriarch Winterton is a good dude. He's pretty old, and while I knew he wasn't fully retired, I'm surprised to learn he is still doing trial work.

There's three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who's got the same first name as a city; and never go near a lady's got a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, everything else is cream cheese. --Coach Finstock

I didn't know he was a patriarch. I had a case against him last year. He's not nearly as sharp as he was. He should not be practicing law at this point.

Sad to hear this news, and I'm glad he's okay.
Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

        • Clark Gilbert has fired dozens of professors if he disagrees with them? And now is an apostle.

Man sad times for education and the church

Did he fire them because he disagrees with them or because they didn’t follow the CES policies?
"Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

I don't know, but we haven't signed a big since he became apostle after saying we wouldn't be the highest bidder in NIL.

His new made up ces policies ?

Do professors deserve to be fired if they have gay married kids?

I’m sure there are a bunch of professors still in the CES system that have gay children.

This feels like a very disingenuous discussion so I’ll let you vaguely yell at the sky alone.

One was warned for having a photo of her daughter. Another was fired for...a Facebook post supporting gay marriage

Do you think support of legal gay marriage is cause for firing from byu?
